However, in the Black Eagles route she's very much so the main villain.
Both sides of the argument have weight, but the fact that she killed Nemesis and allows the Abyss to exists are just two examples that prove that she isn't as bad as she might seem. But she isn't perfect either. She upholds the hierarch𒐪y of Crest nobility in Fódlan, which is questionable at best.
8 Yuri
Yuri certainly has some rough edges, there's no denying that. He makes a few questionable decisions that might not be seen as too great by some. However, what is very clear is that Yuri cares about the Abyss. The💎 Abyss exists to help people who cannot help themselves, and Yuri is the guardian of those people. That role alone lands him a spot on this list.
7 🌟Berna🐻detta
Bernadetta has been through a lot of trauma in her life, that much is very clear. However, despite that, she tries to make the best of her situation. While how much she actually interacts with everyone is going to change depending on the ꦚroute that you play, Bernadetta is a kind soul that was dealt a horrible hand in her life. Nevertheless, she tries her best to make it all work, which simply cannot be an easy task.
6 Dimitri
While Dimitri does eventually come to his senses, he's an absolute monster hellbent on murdering Edelgard for most of the timeskip portion of the game, as such, he ends up pretty low on the list. While his overall goals of taking her out and making the world a better place are noble, he goes about them in incredibly vicious ways. Even so, he does try his best to make up for his mistakes later on,🐈 securing him a spot on this list.
5 Lysithea
Lysithea's𒊎 bearing on the plot isn't as huge as some of the other characters on this list, instead, she's just a really fun character to be around. She strikes a great balance of being incredibly curt and somewhat rude while being adorable at the same time.
All the while, she has an incredibly developed background that really helps to expl෴ain her character and why she is the way she is. Lysithea is one of the most enjoyable students in the game, for many reasons.
4 Flayn
Flayn is someone who's in the same position as Rhea, what you generally think of her beliefs will be shaped by the route that you play. Despite that though, it is clear that Flayn is a kind person at heart. She never wishes ill will toward anyone, and shows great kindness toward Byleth and their students♍. She simply loves all of the people who live at Garreg Mach, and wants the best for the Church.
3 Hilda
Hil🔯da is Claude's right-hand woman, and she'll do anything to help further his goal, which is arguably one of the 🥂most noble in the game among the house leaders. Beyond that, she has an incredibly infectious personality that you can't help but love. Despite attempting to avoid work at literally every turn, she's a very kind person who cares for the people around her, even if her ways of showing it might not be as blunt as some of the other characters on this list.
2 Mercedes
No matter the route that you play on, Mercedes is a very good person. She only wants to help people, that is her main goal in life. As 💝a healer, she lives to serve (pun intended), and wants to work for the church in order to further her goal.
Overall, she🧸's simply just a kind person that wants to help the reside♏nts of Fódlan any way that she can.
1 Edelgard & Claude ﷽
The No. 1 spot is a tie between Edelgard and Claude, and it should be pretty clear as to why. Edelgard and Claude have fundamentally opposite views of how Fódlan should be run. They both believe that they are correct, and won't stop until they achieve what they believe is right for the country. While who you agree with will generally be down to your beliefs, Edelgard and Claude simply want what they believe is best for the world, and the൩y really are kindhearted underneath it all.
