At this point in its lifespan, under its belt. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fire Emblem: Three Houses is one that almost all owners of the console should pick up, whether they have prior experience with the franchise or not. If you have any interest in turn-baꦏsed RPGs, it will surely captivᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚate you for some time. With its DLC and many different paths, you’re probably still playing if you bought it at launch!
One element that keeps players so invested in the game is its cast of characters, all of whom you can grow truly attached to. In that regard, Catherine (Cassandra Rubens Charon) is sometimes passed over in favor of more major players, but she can also be a🌌 huge asset… sometimes. Here’s why you should recruit her (and why you needn’t bother). Watch out for🐼 spoilers if you haven’t completed the Black Eagles routes!
10 RECRUIT HER: ไShe Comes Along Automatically On A Certain Route
The process of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:recruiting students and other units to your cause in Three Houses ꦛcan be quite troublesome. A lot is dependent on the route you’ve taken through꧅ the game and Byleth’s own level. If you’re careless, you can make certain characters far harder to get your hands on.
The truth is, some are excellent additions to your house while others aren’t. In the case of Catherine, though, Black Eꦆagles players can recruit her quite easily if they opt to take the Church of Seiros’ side in Chapter 11. If you do so, she joins your cause regardless of your status with her or Byleth’s levels. One Knight of Seiros, no waiting!
9 SKIP HER: ♔You Loඣse Out On Quite A Lot If You Take This Route
If you choose to forsake Edelgard and fight on Rhea’s side, you’ll begin the Silver Snow route. As we’ve mentioned, this will see you gain Catherine automatically, as well as Seteth and Cyril (plus Hilda, if you meet her requirements). Depending on your outlook, though, you may have gotten the raw end of the deal here. You’ll 💎soon re-acquire the rest of your Black Eagles students, all grown up post-timeskip, minus two notable ones: Edelgard (of course) and her trusty Hubert.
As we’ve argued previously, 168澳洲幸运5💧开奖网:E♍delgard’s route may be the ‘true’ one, and Silver Snow tells quite a bleak story indeed. Throw in the fact that you lose two true Black Eagles powerhouses along the way, and that automatic recruitme🐻nt of Catherine and some of her church🌳 allies may not seem worth it at all.
8 RECRUIT HER: Some Of Her Ending Possibilities Are Super Interesting ജ
The 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fire Emblem titles are notorious for making players truly begin to care for a character, purely so that the permadeath mechanic will hurt just that little bit more. Three Houses🦩 goes further th🐓an ever to ensure that we’re fully invested in these characters and their journeys.
Most importantly, several different endings are available for them, again depending on the route the player took through the game. For Catherine, a n💫umber of fascinati🤪ng endings may come up (look away now if you don’t want anything spoiled). Among other things, she may marry a male Byleth and become his bodyguard (Verdant Wind, Silver Snow, Azure Moon), leave the Church of Serios, and become a legendary wandering hero (Verdant Wind/Silver Snow) or even marry Linhardt, Caspar or Dimitri instead!
7 𒁃 Skip Her: She’s Not A Co🅠re Student
Ahead of Three Houses’ release, much of the game’s hype revolved around the Golden Deer, Blue Lions, and Black Eagles. The students of each house, their weapons, abilities, and such were slowly teased and fans agonized over which hous🍸e they would choose when the game finally arrived. As such, we became super attached to these characters even before we started our adventure.
The core students, then, held a special place in our hearts. Even when favorites weren’t in a chosen house, we could go out of our way to recruit them (with certain exceptions). All of this meant that a ‘B-list’ character like Catherine would be easy to dismiss as a potential team mem💖ber.
6 RECRUIT HER:𝓀 She Wields The Thunderbrand
In any RPG or strategy t💃itle, players are keen to shoot for the optimum setups and the strongest weapons. The latter, naturally, don’t tend to just beဣ lying around in the early game. Ultimate weapons can be major pains to unlock and acquire.
In Three Houses, the Hero’s Relics (such as Byleth’s own Sword of the Creator) are some of the most prestigious and powerful weapons around. It just so happens that Catherine is the cu🍃rrent wielder of one of them: the mighty swor🥃d Thunderbrand. In tandem with her major Crest of Charon, it allows her to use the Combat Art Foudroyant Strike. While this weapon isn’t exclusively for Catherine’s use, it’s incredibly nice to have as a ‘default’ choice.
5 SKIP HER: She Doesn’t Really Stand Out, Stats-ꦗWise
Whichever way you slice it, it’s nicer to have a character with a legendary lightning-infused sword that one with a cheap old Iron Sword from the blacksmith. Catherine is a potent damage-dealer with Thunderbrand in hand (she fits Swordmaster, her de🍌fault class, like a glove), but as a whole, her stats are less than stellar.
As you’d expect, her strength and speed are her strongest asset, allowing her to take down a lot of opponents before they’re able to hit back. She’s very limited as a front-liner, though, because her stats beyond this are very average ܫᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚand she’s quite frail.
4 𒅌 🍸 RECRUIT HER: She Has An S Support Option With A Male Byleth
As we’ve seen, the primary way to build a bond with your units is to spend time with them. We’ve already argued that Catherine lacks a little in this area, not being one of the houses’ main students, but there’s one asset she has that many other char꧙acters don’t: the ▨option to reach the maximum support level with a male Byleth.
As a potential love interest for our hero, the Fire Emblem faithful will probably want to recruit and forge a close bond with Cath♉erine during at least one playthrough of the game.
3 SKIP HER: H▨er Personal Skill Is A Little 𒈔Redundant
There are vario𒁏us different approaches to choosing which house you want to lead and which units to recruit to your side. Some will simply opt for those characters that they like th💯e most, while others put a great deal of thought into which members will make for the all-around strongest team.
Everything is a factor in that, from natural stat growths to Personal Skills. Catherine’s own exclusive skill is Fighting Spirit, which means she takes -5 damage when she has no Battalion (whether its endurance is depleted or she has none equipped at all). While this can come in handy in a pinch, Battalions are the central new combat mechanic of Three Houses and it♔’s a waꦓste to be without one for extended periods.
2 RECRUIT HER: She Doesn’t Require Much Effort To🧔 Get Good Use Out Of
As we’ve mentioned, a freshly-recruited Catherine will already be a Swordmaster. This class suits her stats and natural growth very well, ensuring that she🅘’ll be an effective damage-dealing unit (with her Thunderbrand by her side, of course) righ𒅌t out of the gate. She’ll still need some training, but a lot of units don’t have this luxury.
While she will take a lot of damage if she isn’t used carefully, Catherine is a powerful sword wielder. The very essence of a classic Fire Emblem character.
1 SKIP HE🐬R: Master Classes Don’t Really Fit Her
So♋, yes. We were just waxing lyrical about Catherine’s immediate prowess. She’s suited and booted right from the beginning, you could sa𒁏y, with weapon and advanced class decided for her.
Sadly, though, this can spell trouble in the endgame. Cather✃ine is best suited to Swordmaster, so much so that she should really remain in the class. This is because she d🍒oesn’t fit the masterclasses very well, as they require other proficiencies and/or affect her stat growths in detrimental ways. Her potential is a little limited by this.
