takes players to the land of Fodlan, a land that is divided between three nations. Those being the Adrestian Empire, the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus and the L🎉eicester Alliance. In the🌼 midst of these three main factions those is the one that arguably influences them all in some way is the Church of Seiros.
The Church of Seiros is the main overarching faction in the game which follows the teachings of the prophet, Seiros a🐽nd her teachings on the goddess. There is a lot more to them than meets the eye and they may not be the benevolꦦent force that they make themselves out to be.
10 They Serve As Peacemakers ꦑBetween The Nations
Before 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the timeskip in the game, the Church of Seiros served as the peacemakers and kept the three nations from going to war with each other. They mainly do this from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Garreg Mach monastery whi✅ch just happens to be placed right in the middle of Fodlan.
When the monastery eventually falls to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Black Eagles leader Edelgard, it is no surprise that without the church to intervene that Fodlan falls into chaos and w﷽ar as they arꦅe now leaderless and almost effectively dead.
9 The Church Is Split Int🎃o Four Parts ♏
The church is split into four parts, called churches, that each encompass one of Fodlan's regions. There is the Central Church based out of Garreg Mach and with which the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:main character Byleth interacts the most. There is also the Western Church from Faerghus which is at odds with the Central Church over how the goddess is worshipped and the Easﷺtern Church based out of Leicester who are also at odds with the Central Church.
There was also once a southern church based out of the empire but it was disbanded around 120 years before the game's events after it led an insurrection against the empire.
8 There Is A Lot Of Infighting 𝔉
Despite the church playing the role of peacemaker for Fodlan's nations, it seems as though they cannot keep the peace between themselves. This is most apparent between the Central and Western churches.
The Western church feels the Central church has grown corrupt while the Central church believes the Western church should know its place and just accept its will no matter what. This has led to violence between 🦋the two sides and even has led the Western church to stage a coup against the archbishop, Rhea.
7 They Crowned Faerghus's First King
Faerghus was at one point part of the Adrestian empire but seceded from them after winning the War of the Eagle and Lion. It would be the Church of Seiros though that would seemingly endorse this victory by crowning Faerghus's first king.
This event would not only solidify Faerghus as an independent nation but also inspire 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the lords of what would eventually become the Leicester Allianc🍨e to rebel against the empire as well in order to form their own nation.
6 🍰 Their Leaders Hide A Ruthless Side
Despite portraying themselves as this benevolent force of good that helps the weak, the church's leaders do tend to show a ruthless side. This is perhaps most apparent with the church's archbishop, Rhea.
It seems as though she will punish even the slightest infraction against the church as she uses the punishment of the members of the Western Churches apparent coup to instill fear into those who would speak against the church. Perhaps worst of all though is how in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Crimson Flower route, she is willing to burn the Kingdom's capital city with everyone in it in order to stop Edelgard's army, showing just how far they're willing to go to solidify their rule.
5 They're Extreme Isolationists
Just about everyone is free to embrace the love the goddess and the church offers. Well, so long as those people are only from within Fodlan an🍃d not from outside places l🍬ike Duscur and Almyra.
The church even goes so far as to provide aid to those wishing to keep foreigners out of Fodlan, such as the alliance with Almyra and the kingdom with Duscur. Despite portraying themselves as inclusive to all, they c🔥reate barriers that prevent those from inside and outside of Fodlan fromꦺ understanding one another.
4 T🍒hey Treat Foreigners With Massive D🌸isdain
Not only do they try to keep foreigners out, but those that do manage to get into Fodlan are treated with massive disdain and are considered untrustworthy. This is perhaps most apparent with Dedue of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Blue Lions house.
Dedue hails from Duscur whose people are viewed as conniving savages as a result of the tragedy of Duscur, a massacre that saw Faerghus's king killed along with many of the kingdom's knights and nobility. Though Dedue had nothing to do with that, his origins cause many, including those within the church, to treat him poorly and with suspicion. This is apparent when he is treated as a prime suspect in Flayn's disappearance because he's from Duscur alone.
3 They Control What Goes Th♛rough The Monastery Library 🌱
The library is a good place to learn about Fodlan's history as well as the history of the church itself. It should be noted that the church themselves though control what goes through the library. It makes sense so nothing inappropriate gets in but it also shows you that the church wants to keep some things hidden from the public.
This is shown in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Golden Deer route when Claude comes across a book discussing the Immaculate One and shows it to Byleth. Not too long after Seteth, Rhea's second-in-command, sees it and quickly snatches it away from them, showing that it was something he didn't want them seeing.
2 𒆙 They Keep A Lot Hidden 🐻From The Public
On top of hiding confidential material from the library, a nu🌳mber of other things are kept hidden from the public. This includes how the Holy Mausoleum is hidden on every day of the year, except on the day of the rite of rebirth, but is most apparent with the Holy Tomb.
The Holy Tomb is where many crests are held and would be a good thing for the public to see in order to learn about the church more. But instead, they keep this knowledge to themselves which makes sense so would-be thieves wouldn't try to steal anything.
1 They Tri💯ed To Bring Back The Goddes𝕴s Before
Byleth serves as the reincarnation of the goddess who is eventually revealed to be named Sothis, the girl that is a part of them. While they succeeded in trying to make Byleth the progenitor god, this was not the church's first attempt.
Whe🙈n Garreg Mach was first completed, Seiros and her four apostles tried to resurrect the goddess in a ritual called the Rite of Rising. They failed however and seemingly tried again and again until Byleth came along. This is also further evidenced by how if Byleth chooses to side with Edelgard over Rhea in the Crimson Flower route, she calls them "another failure" as if the church has tried this thing before and failed.
