If you’re playing Fire Emblem: Three Houses then there are a couple of decisions𝓡 to make before you begin the game. One is which house to choose, and the other is setting the difficulty level, which isn’﷽t as straight forward as it first seems. Here are the differences between the difficulty levels.
Normal Or Hard?
The first choice you’ll have to make is bꦗetween normal and hard mode. Your choice here 🎐will depend on if you’ve played the game before, how much you want to be challenged and if you’d rather just focus on the story.
It’s import🏅ant to note that once you start the game then you cannot increase the difficultyဣ. However, you can decrease it, which will then lock it permanently to the lower setting.
Due to this limitation, anyone who is unsure which option to choose, or who has played a Fire Emblem game before, may as well start on hard mode. If you find the game too ꦫchallenging then you can always reduce it at a later point.
That said, normal mode is a great option for those who’ve never played before or anyone who just wants to focus on the storyline. It rem🃏oves some of the challenges of the tactical gameplay portions, allowing you to complete it easier and possibly faster. This is especially helpful if you want to play through all three house storylines.
Classic Or Casual?
This decision may well depend on how attached you are to your students. Classic mode plays like other games in the series, meaning that if a𒆙nyone dies then they are gone for good. Casual on the other hand introduces a mode which revives everyone at the end of a successful battle, ensuring all your students will make it to the end.
Before you choose, note that Fire Emblem: Three Houses has added some mechanisms which will aid in your survival, including a rewind-time system to help erase screw ups. This makes it less punishing than previous games in the serieꦦs.
However, once again if you just want to pla🃏y the story, choosing casual will ensure everyone’s survival.
A Second Playthrough
Once you complete a campaign you’ll be given the option to continue the save. This option is called New Game + and allows you to se🍎lect a new house and different dꦐifficulties. There are also a couple of features which make the second playthrough a little easier than the first.
This flex𓂃ibility means that you can always play through on the l﷽owest settings to get used to the game, then dial them up for a second play through.
