At the game's core, it's a Western, but it's packed with demons and lore that therefore isolates itself from any other Western you can find. The shooting mechanics are exceptional for being released in the infancy of the first-person shooter genre on consoles. Which is imperative when attempting not to be a redundant shooter. Fortunately for Darkwatch, blowing apart a skeleton ghoul never gets old when you're controlling a character by the name of Jericho Cross.
