The first of many, many next-gen remasters is already on the way, and luckily, it's the exceptional hidden gem Observer.
2017's Observer is a first-person psychological horror game set in a cyberpunk world starring Blade Runner's Rutger Hauer. That's possibly the greatest pitch any video game has ever had, but for many, Observer went under the radar.
The studio behind Observer, Bloober Team, followed up with 2 more modern horror classics: Layers of Fear 2 and Blair Witch last year, but now the team is ready to back to the future with Observer System Redux later this year.
The definitive edition of the game will feature expanded gameplay and will include brand new story content for the game. Whether you've already experienced Observer or not, Bloober Team pro✅mises a fantastic new experience.
The trailer (below) offers a taste of what to expect from the next gen remaster (coming to both PS5 and XBX in Q4 2020). Observer was already a ඣvisually impressive game, but the Observer System Red4k trailer shows of some stunning overhauls to the environments and a model of Rutger Hauer so realistic you'll do a double take. See for yourself:
The Polish developers clearly have a lot of love for their award-winning game, and something tells me Fall 2020 is a perfect time to release anything with a cyberpunk vibe. We can't wait to dive back into the world of Observer later this year.
