Last year's Vancouver Titans took the by storm. Since the team ended the 2019 season as the league's finalists, most analysts expected them to remain a strong contender this year as well. Dropping both Bumper, one of the team's stars, and TiZi, who played the main tank role during the entirety of their playoff run, was the first strange decision made by the team's higher-ups; however, that was addressed somewhat during the off season with the signing of Fissure, a player with a tumultuous career, but inarguably great play come match time. Then, last month, the team imploded. Its entire roster was dropped and a new team was hastily assembled less than a week before a match. Now, speaking about his removal from the Titans roster, Fissure his contract was 🌸terminated against his wishes and without pay.
Weirdness around Fissure's contract specifically was first indicated in the team's announcement of its roster's departure. Whereas every other member of the team'𝕴s parting was described as mutual, Fissure was the sole player whose contract was terminated. Some fans speculated that this was due to a clause preventing him from leaving of his own volition given his two prior reti🐟rements, as a statement of goodwill indicating his intent to remain with the team long-term. This would make termination would be the only method for voiding his contract.
According to Fissure's most recent stream, however, this appears to not be the case. Fissure has now stated that, unlike his teammates, he expressed a desire to remain on the Titans roster, even if that meant communicating with new teammates in English rather than in Korean. But he claims the Titans organization denied him the chance, ending his contract prematurely de🦄spite his desire to remain with the team.
More troubling, however, 💟is that Fissure is accusing the Titans of failing to pay him the remain♏der of his salary for the season despite the lack of justification for his termination, in defiance of a league rule that forbids exactly that.
The Vancouver Titans have yet to respond to Fissure's report of the details of🍌 his removal from the team.
