One of the hottest debates in the community has just been put on ice, as the series' creator has confirmed that Bonnie is blue, not purple.

Ever since the first footage of the Five Nights at Freddy's movie was shared, the FNAF community has been arguing about something big. No, I don't mean the infamous "goofy" red eyes, I'm talking about the colour of Bonnie, everyone's favourite terrifying bunny. Ever since Bonnie's debut in the first game, most fans have thought that Bonnie is purple, or at least a very dark and dirty blue, but the movie has clearly been presenting Bonnie as a lighter shade of blue.

This confused a lot of fans, who started arguing whether it was a mistake on the movie's part, . , a new article in SFX Magazine that features an interview with some of the crew working on the film's animatronics has confirmed that Bonnie is supposed to be blue.

SFX Magazine's piece on the movie includes an interview with Robert Bennett, lead designer on the Five Nights at Freddy's film. Bennett's interview includes a brief breakdown of each of the four main animatronics, Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy. When Bennett talks about Bonnie, he reveals that he initially designed him to be purple, but had to change it to blue after series creator Scott Cawthon confirmed that he's actually blue.

Bennett said, "Bonnie's interesting, because in all of the media that I was looking at when I was researching it, he's purple. When I did the original designs, I made Bonnie purple. Well, I didn't realise that Bonnie is blue. It had something to do with the lighting in the first game. When you look at the plushies, and all the toys, Bonnie's usually purple. But Scott was the one who was like 'No, he's blue'. So that was a lot of back and forth to get that nailed down correctly."

So, there you have it Five Nights at Freddy's fans, straight from the mouth of the series' creator himself. Cawthon might have confirmed that Bonnie is blue and ended the debate, but it seems that . I guess a lot of fans have gotten attached to the idea of Bonnie not being blue.

If I'm being honest, I can see exactly what they mean. Bonnie totally looks purple in most of the games and in most pieces of merchandise, and it now doesn't quite feel right to see him as a blue bunny. Still, if the creator and film are going for that and that's the colour he's supposed to be, who am I to argue?
