What was originally supposed to be a harmless April Fool's joke completely backfired when the person behind the joke (who goes by the Twitter name James) revealed that the "leaked" screenshots for Flipnote Studio were actually fake, and that the doodling app was not releasing for th💙e Nintendo💯 Switch.
The story originally dates back to earlier in the week when reports surfaced that a Japanese user gained access to a beta version of Flipnote Studio and of the app, as well as some of the forgotten Nintendo characters that were drawn in the app. As a result, many people caught wind of the supposed leaks and started to really hope that everything was indeed true, especially because they thought that the Nintendo characters were aꦦ hin🥃t for future announcements. Ultimately, speculation started to grow even more when websites and .
However, everything became clear on April Fool's Day when James revealed that the screenshots were fake and how they were mainly created as a joke for a few small Discord groups. On the contrary, people were completely upset and even took the time to harass James for getting their hopes up and for giving them false hope in general. In the end, James deleted all tweets about the A💮pril Fool's joke and set to private in order to stop some of the abuse coming from annoyed fans.
Flipnote Studio originally released for the Nintendo DSi and Ninten🔥do 3DS and allowed users to create drawings and animations, and essentially share them with one another.
