For 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ash Ketchum, most fans would say that his 3 most iconic Pokemon are Pikachu, Charizard, and probably Greninja. Very rarely do people think ꦍabout the numerous Flying-types Ash has and how he managed to acquire most of the beginner area 3-stage bird evolutions in each specific region.

Which birds and other flying creatures did he avoid capturing along his journeys, though? It's time to take a look at some Flying-type Pokemon Ash never quite managed to get his hands on between Kanto and the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Alolan Islands.

10 Vivillon

Vivillon in the Pokemon anime.

Sometimes Ash gets the opportunity to train and command a Pokemon in battle without ever capturing it. Vivillon is an example of this happening, and it all started when Ash came across a Scatterbug that managed to escape from a Pokemon thief. Ash not only helps the Scatterbug out but manages to help it fight the trainer who tried stealing it. Through that experience, it evolves into its final form. Ash had all of the fun of battling with Vivillon wi൩thout having to capture it, which in turn likely made Vivillon comfortable with the arrangement in the first place.

9 Pelipper

pelipper

The anime, more so th🗹an the video games, does an excellent job at showcasing Pokemon that are best used in other jobs or functions that aren't battling. Pelipper is the final form of Wingull and though it may not be super strong in a battle, it is an invaluable form of transportation. Ash happens to ride one (called the Poke Ride Pelipper) which helped him get around the Alolan Islands. It's likely understood from Ash's perspective that Pelipper's place isn't in battle, but rather in a place where he can help humans and other Poke🌊mon.

8 Rufflet

rufflet

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Flying-type Pokemon are often different types of birds and to most trainers, it can feel as if there's no point in capturing more than one. With Rufflet, the idea of capturing 💦and training one is quite daunting. To get it to its final form and have it turn into Braviary trainers must help it reach level 54.

That's the same type of investm♛ent needed for many Dragon-types, and for a guy like Ash who has a tough time getting Pokemon to level 30, it's ridiculous to assume that he'd want🎃 to capture and train a Rufflet at any point in his Pokemon journey.

7 Drifloon

Pokemon Three Drifloon floating in front of mountians

Drifloon is a creepy Pokemon that's known for kidnapping children. Ash is only 10 years old when he starts his journey and ages rather slowly. This means that Ash is a target for Drifloon in many ways, and at the end of the day, it's hard to say how trustworthy it would be. Ash also isn't very fond of Ghost-types, which Drifloon is in addition to its 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Flying-type. The first time Ash met a Ghost-type Pokemon, Haunter temporarily killed him and let h🌳im experience what it was like to live in the dimension between the living and the dead.

6 Pikipek

pikapek

Ash has a track record of capturing and training the 3-stage bird evolutions in each give region, so it's strange he never caught Pikipek. He captured and trained Pidgeotto, Taillow, Starly, and Fletchling. It seems that once he arrived on the Alolan Islands he was over acquiring new Flying-types he'd have to evolve twice. Or it could be that he acquired Rowlet, the Grass-type starter Pokemon of the region. A Flying and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Grass-type Pokemon s🍃eems much more useful than a bird that's ul✤timately Flying and Normal-type.

5 Emolga

emolga

Emolga is nothing more than a flying-squirrel clone of Pikachu. Out of the numerous Electric-type Pikachu clones, it does happen to be the cutest and most interestingly typed of the bunch. The combination of Electric and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Flying-type is neat and makes Emolga unique in some aspects. Not only did Pikachu's presence make Ash catching Emolga redundant, but his traveling🔯 partner named Iris also caught an Emolga during their time together. Despite it being a bit of a mess personality-wise, her Emolga was at the very least good-hearted.

4 Spearow

spearow

Want to know the best way for a Pokemon to stay wild and free? Spearow did a great job of showcasing this when a fl🔯ock of them attacked Ash and Pikachu in the very first episode of the anime. Ash ended up catching and training a Pidgey, likely a result of this experiꦰence.

He likely wrote off the aggressive birds the moment they put him and his first Pokemon in harm's way. Ash didn't miss out on much sinܫce Spearow's final form is much more formidable looking than it is in battle.

3 Salamence

salamence

Despite Charizard being a Pokemon that's closely associated with Ash, he doesn't have a strong connection with dragons. Charizard isn't a Dragon-type, but fans understand that it should be and isn't for some reason. Salamence is a Pokemon that, in the show, is owned by a dangerous villain known as Pokemon Hunter J. The giant blue and red dragon is powerful and worthy Pokemon Ash should have focused on training and acquiring, but at the end of the day, it might be a bit too ferociou☂s and volatile for him.

2 Scyther

scyther

Ash has a couple of rules when it comes to catching Pokemon, and one of them is that he rarely if ever will attempt to catch a Pokemon one of his friends owns. In the anime, his new traveling partner in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Johto region named Tra✱cey ends up capturing and trainer a Scyther. This is a bummer considering Scyther is arguably one of the coolest Pokemon designs, and Tracey didn't see nearly the number of battles Ash did. Tracey helped nurse it back to health, so there's no questioning his level of care, at least.

1 Gyarados

gyarados

As talked about with Scyther, a big reason Ash never caught a Magikarp or Gyarados was because of Misty. She was a dedicated Water-type trainer, and upon returning to Cerulean City she was met with the opportunity to catch a Gyarados. What Water-type trainer is going to say no to an opportunity like that? It's weird that Gyarad🌱os is Flying-type and not Dragon-type, but that's a Pokemon-related discussion fan have been having for as long as the anime's been going. There still isn't a reasonable explanation why that is.
