Fortnite continues to take the world by storm, and now it seems as if p꧙rofessional sports are being affected by the increasingly popuꦓlar video game.

If you don't know what Fortnite is by now then you must have been living under a rock for the past year. It currently feels as if you can't scroll past more than three posts on social media without one of them being related to th🌳e online, multi-player, free-for-all, and with good reason. If you've played it you will know that even though the game is pretty simple, it is highly addictive.

One of the best things about the game is that it is entirely free. That means if you have something to play it on, so anything from a PlayStation 4 to an iPhone, then you can get in on the fun. Unfortunately, though the ease of access to Fortnite and the fact that you 🤪ꦫcan play it almost anywhere has proved to be a problem in some walks of life.

The game has become incredibly popular among Major League Baseball players. They have a lot of downtime between games and while they're traveling between cities, so it only makes sense that many of them have developed an affinity for Fortnite. What they can't do is let the game affect their livelihood. However, as reported by , that has happened a couple of times recently.

The Boston Red Sox faced off against their bitter rivals, the New York Yankees on Wednesday, and the former's pitcher David Price couldn't play as he was suffering from a mild case of carpal tunnel syndrome. Apparently, Price plays an awful lot of Fortnite, and according to , he will no longer be playing the game while at the ballpark. Price definitely won't be able to play Fortnite on the stadium's jumbotron like the Milwaukee Bre𒁏wers managed to do as you can see in the Instagram video above.

While it can't be definitively proved that playing too much Fortnite was the cause of Price's carpal tunnel, it got the attention of e✅nough Red Sox fans for the player to address t🌳he subject and promise to dial back on the number of hours he has been putting into the game. It may even make other MLB teams think twice before they let their players kill time playing video games, at least when they're at work.
