Fortnite will for PC starting on December 15. Performance Mode, available in Alpha, will provide a significant jump 🤡in frame rate at the expense of graphics – allowing older computers with weak GPUs and CPUs to play the game.
The goal with Fortnite's Performance Mode is to give more people access to Epic's popular battle royale. A few give us a ♛glimpse at the boosted frame rates, with both examples offering an increase of over 30fps. Even if you're using a computer with a lowly Intel UHD Graphics 620, you'll likely see around 61fps while playing Fortnite – up fro🏅m 24 prior to the addition of Performance Mode.
There's more to Performance Mode than just an improved frame rate. Since it takes advantag🧸e of a reduced in-game visual quality, you'll be able to uninstall high resolution texture packs, freeing up around 14GB of space on your hard drive. Once the new mode goes live on De🥃cember 15, just open the Epic Games Launcher, find Fortnite in your library, and open its Options menu. From there, you'll be able to uninstall High Resolution Textures.
"While Performance Mode will offer improvements for all users that opt-in, there are certain hardware requirements that can offer a significantly smoother experience," writes Epic. For users on older machines, having the game run𝕴e from an SSD or providing 6GB of RAM or higher will allow the game to better fit in memory and reduce 🔯overall hitches and stutters. A dedicated GPU is not required but will also help balance system load and give a much smoother experience."

Investing in a high-end PC isn't cheap, and no doubt a large portion of Fortnite's population will benefit from the changes.
