A Captain America skin landed in Fortnite to celebrate Independence Day last week, and t🍷he superhero brought a semi-secret chall🧸enge along with him.
Fortnite continues to show that it has a strong affiliation with both Marvel and DC as Chapter 2's seasons roll on. Deadpool was the special guest star of Season 2, and now Aquaman occupies that spot in Season 3. However, 🔯this past weekend proved that there is room on𒀰 the island for both Marvel and DC at the same time.
Epic added a pretty awesome Captain America skin to Fortnite's item store 🎶last weekend to celebrate Independence Day. Now that players can dress as Cap', Deadpool, and Harley Quinn, we are getting to s🍸ee some pretty cool inter-comic book battles take place on the island. As for Captain America, the Avenger didn't just bring his stars and stripes spangled uniform and iconic shield to the game with him.
He has also brought a semi-secret challenge. Semi-secret because it isn't listed with the rest of the weekly challenges, but it will show itself when the times is right. Cap's ꦉchallenge is one of the "Quick Challenges" added as a part of Chapter 2. It will only pop up when Epic deems it right to do so and will appear on the left-hand side of a player's home screen as they wait for the༺ next match to load up.
The challenge requires players t🐼o set off fireworks around Lazy Lake. There are six sets of fireworks in total all around the perimeter of the point of interest. There are two problems players might encounter when trying to complete this challenge. One, setting off fireworks will alert other players to your locations. Two, if another player beats you to the fireworks, then they are gone until the start of another round.
Players will need to set off five sets of fireworks across as many rounds as they like in order to complete the challenge. It can be done in one round, but that seems unlikely. Unfortunately, there is no Marvel-themed reward for setting off fireworks five times. The only reward is 14,000 XP. Not to be sniffed at, of co෴urse, but we'd have liked a Captain America back bling, or an emote at the very least.
