Fortnite's second chapter has ♎brought along with it the ability to fish. Here's exactly how to use that newfound ability and how to get the most from it.
A few days ago, Fortnite as we know it disappeared into a black hole. Players of the game are no strangers to game-altering events taking place at a moment's notice, but nothing like this. Fortnite's black hole was a happening so massive that it meant no one could play the 🥃game for a whole two days. Some people must have not known what to do to fill the time.
Never fear, as Fortnite is now back, and it's better than ever - or at least very different to the Fortnite we've been playing for the past two years. A brand new island, weapons players can upgrade, gun-mounted speedboats, and even fishing rods. It's that final item we'll be focusing on right now. Fortnite C♚hapter Two allows players to interact with water in a bunch of brand new ways, and one of those new ways is fishing.
Getting Started
First thing's first, you're going to need a rod. Unfortunately, rods are not like axes, not everyone gets one on the bus. However, the good news is they are not hard to come by. Rods can be found in floor loot, chests, and even barrels. They'll be discoverable near pretty much any body of water in-game, but if you want to guarantee yourself a rod, head to Craggy Cliffs, Fortnite's number one fishing spot.
It should be noted at this point that when holding your rod, players will not be able to also hold a weapon, again like your axe. With that in mind, it's probably best not to have it in hanꦬd unless the coast is clear. Players are able to fish wherever there is water. Cast off by using the right trigger/right mouse button. Then press that same button again when the water splashes. Wait too long and your cast will have been unsuccessful.
What To Fish For
The trailer for Chapter Two implies that Fortnite's residents and visitors aren't fishing for fish, but that's not technically true. When players reel back in, there might well be a fish on the hook. There could also be a tin can, building materials, or hopefully, a weapon. One of the new challenges is to successfully fish for a weapoജn. However, if players are aspiring to complete that challenge, you better set🍃tle in, as getting a weapon when you finish is neither easy nor common.
