Epic has already revealed the end date of Fortnite's new seas🍃on. Judging by the past two seasons though, we would recommend taking this inf🐟ormation with a pinch of salt.
After a handful of delays, Chapter 2: Season 2 of Fortnite came to an end this week. The first date Epic made public in regard to an end date was April 30, 2020. Considering everything that has happened in the world since then, it feels like that day cꦫame and went a lot longer than six weeks ago.
Now, this week kicked off with one of Fortnite's best in-g🍨ame events to date, turning The Storm into a giant wall of water in which players could s𝓰wim. Fast forward two more days and that wall of water appears to have collapsed and flooded the island. The collapse has brought sharks, waterskis, a tiny cat with a mech body, and Aquaman.
Over the course of the season, the water brought about by Midas will subside. As it does, old locations will be revealed and driveable cars will become a part of Fortnite for the very first time. There is no indication regarding how long it will take for Fortnite to become less flooded as of ye𝓀t, but Epic has revealed a preliminඣary end date for the new season.
Players who have bought this season's Battle Pass might have noticed the end date announcement. It's subtle, which makes sense considering how much that date tends to get changed before w﷽e acꦆtually reach it. For now, Epic plans to bring the curtain down on Season 3 on August 27, 2020. That would make this a ten-week season, which is much more in keeping with the season-lengths of Chapter 1.
That has not been the case 🥂so far in Chapter 2, though. While the average length of a season during Chapter 1 fell somewhere between 70 and 80 days, so far Chapter 2's seasons have been 128 and 118 days, respectively. There have been various reasons for that, some of which have been out of Epic's control. Providing the developer keeps its players entertained, however, we don't think the length of a season matters all that much.
