168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fortnite Chapter 4 has launched after a very short chapter 3. The live event went off without too many issues, and everyone piled into the servers to reminisce about old chapters while playing silly mini-games. It seemed pretty clear that as we all bounced around in the event, hopping between small islands, we were having a hand in constructing the new map for Chapter 4. Now it's here, and we've been dropping into all the new Points of Interest (POIs).

The Chapter 4 map has a definite style; a mixture of medieval villages and strongholds, among the traditional Fortnite archetypes of factories, entertainment spots, and scientific outposts. Each POI is very distinct and offers unique gam♛eplay opportunities, while the landmarks in between fill out a more lived-in map, with shacks, mansions, and monolith-type 🍃structures.

The Map

Fortnite chapter 4 map overview

As with all Fortnite maps, the land is separated into geographical sections. There's always a snowy, iced area; this time, the arctic cold plays havoc with your movement. In the iced areas, you'll slip around while running, so be aware while fighting.

There are wooded areas, coastal POIs, and farmland. Interestingly, this time around, there are no desert areas, with Epic Games opting for more rural c🐎ountryside, which plays into the faux-medieval slant for this season.

It's worth noting, this map seems to be the first in some time when water isn't a huge focus.

As you can see from our map image, there are still rivers and the odd lake, but there's no central large lake we've seen so many times previously. This is due to the addition of dirt bikes, which make 🍸land traversal much faster and more nimble than cars.

Lonely Labs

View of Fortnite Lonely Labs

Lonely Labs is a scientific outpost in the arctic zone of the map. It feels sparse and desolate, despite the outpost buildings. The buildings have hidey-holes underneat൲h their foundations and🐟 plenty of small rooms inside to shield up, or just rat it out.

It's one of the lesser interesting POIs visually, but when the storm circle ends here, it becomes a bloodbath battlegroundಞ with players on roofs t🐠aking pot-shots at enemies sliding around on the ice.

Brutal Bastion

View of Fortnite brutal bastion

Brutal Bastion seems named after its architectural design, as this brutalist structure sticks out of the snow like a frostbitten sore thumb. This bastion is all cavernous halls and jutting staircases.

This area plays host to many close combat fights as players scurry from building to building, or take advantage of zip-lines to circle around each other. With the large, imposing statues dotted about, this feels like a lore-heavy area, just waiting for flavour text in the future. For now, it's a built-up playground for run-and-gun gameplay.

Slappy Shores

In this new era of Fortnite, it seems that Slap is the drink of choice. Slap juice, when consumed, gives you extra stamina for sprinting and mantling. Although Slurp can still be found across the map, this area is the home base of Slap, with their production factory right in the centre of Slappy Shores.

Surrounding this factory are dilapidated suburbs, which may hint at Slap being the product on its way out, with Slurp taking over. Expect fights in the large outbuildings and in the tight, graffiti-decorated streets. Think Pleasant Park, but with an industrial twist.

Faulty Splits

Interior of Fortnite Faulty Splits

Faulty Splits might be the weirdest POI on the Chapter 4 map. As stated in the name, it's an area split down the middle, 🉐with a medieval village on one side, and a modern b🎶owling alley and diner on the other.

A zip-line connects the two halves, from high ground to low, offering some terrific opportunities to snipe or take long shots with a SCAR. The interior of the bowling alley can become an all-out skirmish due to its open nature, while backrooms and corridors hold the chests an🅘d floor loot.

Frenzy Fields

There's always some farmland somewhere. Frenzy Fields feels very similar to its namesake Frenzy Farms. There are large outbuildings and barns with several levels inside, surrounded by some open fields and others with tall crops.

This whole area is littered with small hillocks which provide great cover opportunities and break the line of sight. With plenty of haystacks to dive into, Frenzy can deliver a lot of great fꦿirefights, or a place to res๊t up during a rotation.

Shattered Slabs

View of Fortnite Shattered Slabs

Shattered Slabs is a brilliant mess for firefights. With huge cubes of rock, and shelves built into the quarry from where the stone has hewn away, there's cover for days. The central area, where the rock has been carved out, is surrounded on all sides by high ground.

A few buildings provide shelter, but otherwise, this is an up and down maze that feels like a box battle minus the building. Listening out for approaching enemies is chaotic as they can pretty much come at you from any angle, so you'll need to constantly monitor your surroundings.

Anvil Square

View of Fortnite Anvil Square

Anvil Square is a quaint village surrounding a small castle. Much like Shattered Slabs, this area features a lot of high ground, mostly from the clocktower-style building opposite the multilevel castle.

With this POI being the closest to the centre of the map, it can become quite a hot drop, with players looking to land, loot, and then head out towards the circle. The castle itself is a great building to hold as a team, with high slit windows to fire out of while providing decent cover. From the ramparts on top, you snipe towards the midg🃏round 🃏of the map, and The Citadel.

The Citadel

View of Fortnite The Citadel

Another large castle on the map is held within The Citadel, which is itself positioned on top of a huge hill. Surrounded by a lake and moat, once you're in The Citadel it's tough to get back out without a launch pad or the nearby zip-lines.

There are plenty of choke points here, from both the roads leading in, to the bridges that emerge from the central castle. Don't be fooled by the size of the building, it looks to only hold a few levels, but it sprawls down into the hill on which it's built. The large throne room may not see a lot of action, but it often holds the new Oathbound chests, which hold rare loot.

Breakwater Bay

View of Fortnite Breakwater Bay

This coastal area feels like it's been pulled out of Overwatch. With the wooden beamed traditional buildings, mixed with hover trolleys carrying large stones from Shattered Slabs. It's an odd mixture of older architecture and modern ideas.

As a POI, it gets little foot traffic unless the circle is nearby, as it's right out on the edge of the northwest, with only wooded fields around it. There are only a few buildings in Breakwater Bay, so it feels as lonely as it looks on the map. Unless the bus starts overhead, you'll likely visit only rarely.
