Fortnite recently added what is essentially a full-blown Crazy Taxi limited time mode, where every team gets their very own - and very fast - taxi. The goal is to collect 50 stars beꦕfore anyone else, and as you might expect, there are pretty much no rules 🅘whatsoever.
The news comes from the official Fortnite Twitter page, which recently posted a tweet describing the brand new Tilted Taxis game mode. It's still a battle royale in essence, in that teams are pitted against one another in a match where only on🔯e squad can emerge victorious - except instead of legging it around the island with a pickaxe, you're putting pedal to the metal in a modern day rendering of everybody's favourite Crazy Taxi.
Check out the tweet below.
For those unacquainted with the iconic arcade game - which was promptly ported to Dreamcast before becoming the third-best-selling Dreamcast game🦩 in the United States - Crazy Taxi is exactly what it sounds like. You play as a cab driver, but you're not necessarily concerned with customer service or the rules of the road. Your sole goal is to deliver your passenger to their destination as quickly as possible, rega💯rdless of what kind of absurd driving that will inevitably entail.
Fortnite's take on the series - Tilted Taxis - is a limited time mode, meaning that it won't be in Fortnite f🃏orever. So, if you want t﷽o spin around with your mates racking up stars while simultaneously attempting to crash into as many people as possible, you should probably give it a go as soon as possible.
It's important to note that Fortnite's Tilted Taxis LTM won't be exactly like Crazy Taxi, though. Wa🃏y back in 1998, Sega officially filed a to protect Crazy Taxi's distinct approach to gameplay, so any other game that attempts to iterate on its formula has to provide some sort of unique spin on it.
For Fortnite, that spin is obviously th♒e fact that this is Crazy Taxi, except it's reimagined as a battle royale. As a result, it's about 50 times crazieꩲr.
