The cube that has been ever-ღpresent on Fortnite Island is finally gone, leaving the game with a bang. In case you missed i🐎t, we've got you covered here.
During season five of Fortnite, a massive purple cube mysteriously appeared on the map. Said cube gradually started to roll to various destinations, leaving runes in its wa💯ke. Its journey ended when it descended into Loot Lake. However, it reappeared soon after, lifting the island that once sat in the middle of the lake high above the map. Since then, it has been taking the island on a tour of the sky above the much large♈r island it calls home.
The cube has proved to be quite problematic for players. It has been so much more than ꦅan inanimate object that happens to roll and float. Fragments that have come off of the cube have been scattered around the island, spawning monsters. Those monsters have become rather annoying, attacking you and often alerting other players of your location.

Well, the monsters are no more, and neither is the cube. This past weekend, the cube exploded and when it did, it tookꦫ everyone who was playing at the time along with it. Those online when the event took place noticed that the cube had started to glow and spin. Eventually, it exploded and turned the entire screen white.
The explosion transported everyone on the map to an alternate dimension. They found themselves floating in an empty white space. Well, empty aside from the rest of their rivals. Those players were then shown a cutscene. In that scene, a butterfly with rifts for wings landed on each player's hand. With that, they were transported back to Fortnite Island.
The island was not how they had left it. The cube was gone, taking the monsters along with it, and Loot Lake is now once again a peaceful and tranquil place. It is very different from what it was before the invasion of the cube, and even appears to have some shards of the purple menace stuck on an island in the middle of it to act as a memory of what happened. For now, Fortnite Island seems to be a happie꧒r place than it has ever been, there is even a rainbow. However, we don't expect that to last for long.
