Though 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fortnite’s innum💖erable fans surely couldn’t imagine a world without the game, many might be surprised by just how close Epic Games’ smash hit came to never existing.

If you’re a Doctor Who fan, you’ll know that time isn’t a strict progression from cause to effect, but more “a big ball of… wibbly wobbly, timey-wimey… stuff.” You’ll also know that the decisions we make create endless parallel univerꦓses in which we did take that job (or whatever the choice happens to be). The smallest decisions can shape your future in ways you can’t even imagine.

Yes, this does mean that there’s a parallel world in which Fortnite was canceled.

It’s almost mind-boggling to consider that. Heck, it’s mind-boggling to think about the impact Fortnite has had in just a few short years. The way the game continues to dominate absolutely every format it hits is incredible. For instance, when 🌜it hit iOS, it made $300 million in 200 days. That’s a lot of cash, right there. That’s the pop culture power of Fortnite.

The game isn’t without its detractors, though, that’s for darn certain. Even the highest-profile players became so angry with the changes the team is making that they gave up and strea🐟med UNO for a night instead. On the whole, though, there’s no denying the phenomenon that Fortnite has become. A🌠s it turns out, ꦅall of that was a bit of a quirk of fate.

Amid all the rest of the E3 2019 excitement, Rod Fergu𓂃sson, ex-director of production at Epic Games, made a very interesting statement: he could’ve canceled the beloved battle royale before it ever really happened.

"If I stayed at Epic, I would have canceled Fortnite. Absolutely. Before I left I tried to cancel Fortnite," he reported to at the show.

While he doesn’t elaborate on why exa✅ctly this was, con🔯nected with the whole Save the World thing (which was, essentially, all the game was at the time):

“When it was just Save the World,𓂃 that was a project that had some challenges. As the director of production at the time, that game would not have passed my bar for something we should have continued to keep going,” Fergusson said.

So, there we go. You’d better appreciate what you have, Fortnite fans, because that global phenomenon you hold so dear could have been crushed under Fergusson’s shoe years ago. As for the man himself, he now heads up The Coalition, which is currently hard at work on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Gears of War 5 (🔴which was also officially revealed at the show).
