This latest season of Fortnite has been doing well, but the return of one of the game's most popular limited time modes could make it one of the all time greatest. The Getaway LTM has always been a fan favorite since it debuted in Season 5, but hasn't been seen in the rotation since way back in Season 8. If leaked information is accurate, however, players won't have to wait long to finally jump back in on this high stakes Fortnite mode.
What Is The Getaway?
Because it's been so long since this LTM was in the rotation, some may have only heard about this mode but never actually experienced it themselves. How it works is that teams drop onto the map with the objective of either finding a jewel or stealing one off🌼 another team that's found one. They then have to bring it to v♓ans scattered around the map to score. There are only four jewels on the map at any time, and spawn in special supply drop safes near the edge of the first circle. Once a player picks up a jewel, they become visible on the map to all players for 30 seconds.
Teams have to work together to protect their jewel, bring it♒ to one of the va🅷n locations, and build up to allow the carrier to escape with it before the other teams can stop them or steal the jewel for themselves.
Will The Getaway Come Back?
According to a dataminer named , he has uncovered a list of LTMs that are "hotfixed to the servers" meaning they will be added to the r🧸otation soon, though he is unsure of when. Last on this list is "The Getaway" listed for duos or squads. Considering Vast thinks the LTMs he's found will come in the order he found them, if the others higher in the list start to show up it may lend some credibil﷽ity to his claims and The Getaway could make a triumphant return.
While this is exciting enough on its own, there are still a lot of questions fans have should The Getaway come back to Fortnite. Will the mode-specific challenges be coming back as well?
