A Fortnite leak has revealed that Black M🎃anta, Aquaman's arch-nemesis, is comingౠ to the game at some point in the next two weeks.
There was once a time when Fortnite players thought the game's crossover with the superhero world would be a one-time thing. Not only has that proven not to be the case, but Epic has established relationships with both Marvel and DC. Deadpool, Batman, Thanosꦺ, and Harley Quinn have all appeared on the island.
That's not all! A Captain America skin was added to the in-game store this past weekend to celebrate July 4. Cap' joins Aquaman who has taken Deadpool's place as Fortnite's resident superhero this season. So far, the only link between Season 3 and Aquaman is the flooded map. However, rumors and leaks would suggest his reasoning for arriving in Fortnite will be further explained as the seasoꦺn progresses.
The latest of those leaks revolves around Black Manta, perhaps Aquaman's biggest rival. HYPEX has revealed that there is a Black Manta skin hidden in Fortnite's code, and it's set to join the Fortnite store on July 16 at 2 pm GMT. Not only that, but Black M🅷anta's iconic dual blades will also be made available as an accompanying back bling. T𝐆here also appears to be a special Aquaman skin separate from the one players can unlock via Battle Pass challenges.
What Black Manta's role in Fortnite will be remains to be seen. He could be added to the game as a skin and nothing else. However, indications that the lost city of Atlantis will be added to the map as a new POI at some point this season suggest otherwise. Perhaps when Aquaman's home does pop up in what is currently an empty underwater canyon, there will be an in-ga✱me event during which players can watch Aquaman battle Black Manta.
For now, players can do nothing more than gradually earn their way to that Aquaman skin. As was the case with Deadpool, Epic is only allowing players to complete one challenge per week. Luckily, those challenges are pretty easy. Week three's challenge is to catch two different types of fisꦬh in one match.
