MEGA City
The freshest addition to Fortnite by🤡 far is MEGA City, which is so important it gives its name to the season.
MEGA City is a gigantic place filled with buildings, bikes, sports cars, and a lot of loot. It’s for sure an interesting place to land because of the number of things and how fun it is to start your matches there. But MEGA City wouldn’t be in this guide if it wasn’t for the transport method you’ll be forced to use to get yourself out (or in) of a problematic situation; the rails.
MEGA City is filled with rails you can use to quickly move throughout the city. You’ll have to use your Interact key (which is usually E on the keyboard, X on the Xbox Controller, and Triangle on the Playstation Controller) to jump on it. Then, you can boost yourself on the rails to get high speed as much as you want.
You can shoot, heal yourself, and do pretty much anything while grinding the rails; nonetheless, be aware that if you jump and then move, you’ll be jumping out of the rails. Thankfully, you’ll not get fall damage!
New Vehicles
There are two types of vehicles that you could use in Fortnite: MEGA. We'll explore their different features below.
Victory Crown Rouge
Fortnite vaulted the good ol’ Dirt Bike to bring in the Victory Crown Rouge, a great bike that ♌resembles aও classic Japanese bike.
It’s one of the vehicles with the lowest HP of the game with a poor 800 HP, but it compensates for it by having an excellent speed on road. It’ll be very hard to land a shot on you if you go at full speed with it! Also, the bike has two seats, meaning you can ride with a friend.
You can also go full speed with this bike, as it has a function named Superslide. It works like t💃he usual nitro; it doesn’t have any extra perks.
Don’t try to take the bike off-road, as it’ll be very slow, and you’ll be vulnerable to getting shot. Also, the bike has a very slow startup, so if you crಌash the bike💟, it’ll take you a hot minute to get back on track.
Nitro Drifter
Most of the cars of the previous season, alongside the Off-Road Tires and the Cow Catcher, got vaulted, and now we have the Nitro Drifter.
This car is pretty fast, yet it’s very weak, with only 1,050 HP. It’s the car with the lowest HP in this update. It has four seats, so it can transport a full squad in it. Also, it’s not hard to find, as there are a lot of them on the whole map.
It has everything a usual car has in the game, but it also includes a new mechanic, drifting. Drifting is perfect in high-space areas and, if you manage to land a drift successfully, you’ll get a very good speed boost. It works well in cases where you need to run away from a battle. Nonetheless, it’s not recommendable to do it in small spaces be꧙cause💎 the car can go out of control, and you can crash it.
Don't take this car out off the road; it’♋ll get considerably slow even when drifting.
Loot Island
Midway through the match, a big chunk of land will spawn in a random place on the map. This chunk of land is named Loot Island, and it has many secrets.
It’s not the first time Fortnite players have seen Loot Island. It appeared for the first time in Chapter 🧸3, in the Point of Interest named Loot Lake. It’s the island in the exact middle of the zone, and it was remembered as a great place to land.
First, it has a special Capture Point that, if you claim it, you’ll get rewarded with the great Overclocked Pulse Rifle.
It also has an underground Vault you can open with two keys; it has a Rare Chest and many common chests. It’s not the most useful thing to have at the stage of the game when everyone has looted for a long while, but there’s a chance to find a Legendary weapon in the Rare Chest, so you can give it a go in case you haven’t used your keys in the h🎐olo-chests yet.
Combat Cache
The Combat Caches are small boxes that spawn randomly on the map. They use the same system as the Capture Points as you have to Interact with them and then wait for a minute to open them. If you are willing to open a Combat Cache, you’𝕴ll have to protect them from other players.
As they drop on the map, you’ll see an orange beacon in the sky, and the game will automatically ping it, so you can easily find it on the map. If the beacon is orange, everything you’ll find there will be Legendary weapons.
But here’s when things get interesting; if some time passes and no one hasn’t opened the Combat Cache yet, the beacon will turn purple, meaning the weapons you’ll find there will be Epic instead of Legendary. After a couple 🎐of minutes, the weapons will turn into Rare, then into Uncommon. They will not turn into Common weapons.
The time in between the weapons change its uniqueness will not stop even if you are in𒁏 the process of opening the Combat Cache, so the only way to get Legendary weapons out of the Combat Cache is if you have enough luck to see one of them spawning next to you.
Sniper Glare
Being suddenly taken down by a hidden sniper is a thing everyone hates. To make things fairer, and avoid players camping with snipers instead of getting into fights, the snipers will emit a glare.
The glare is very small if you see it near you, but it’ll be very noticeable if you see it from the distance. This is a great addition to the Zero Build mode, as it’s way harder to defend yours⛦elf from sniper shots if you can’t put a wall in between the bullet and your head.
