OG's battle pass will reportedly cost the same amount as a full season's pass, despite only offering 50 tiers of rewards and only being active for a month.

We've been hearing rumours about Fortnite returning back to its classic Chapter 1 map for some time and, after tons 🎀of teases from Ep🍰ic and leaks from insiders, the ti🤪me has f꧒inally come to go back to the good old days of 2018. Although this is a big deal for Fortnite fans who have been asking for a return to the original map for some time now, it seems like Epic is treating it as more of 🌜a stop-gap season.

Another piece of evidence that Fortnite: OG is considered a "mini season" is that it's missing a chapter name and season number in its title.

The first hint at this was discovered by reliable Fortnite insider HYPEX, who reported just a few days ago that the latest season, which is called Fortnite: OG, has a battle pass that꧅ only features 50 leve༺ls of rewards, half of what is usually offered in a Fortnite battle pass. Combine that with Fortnite: OG only running for a month comꦓpared to the usual length, and it certainly seems like a slimmer season than usu🍌al.

With the shorter runtime and smaller amount of rewards on offer for Fortnite: OG, you'd think that the battle pass would be made cheaper to compensate, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Over on Twitter, , 950 V-Bucks, despite not having the same amount of content as those passes.

, which confirms that there are "50+" rewards to earn and that it'll cost 950 V-Bucks. It's not clear why the pass is the same price despite having less in it, but you can at least earn back 1,000 V-Bucks by making your way through the OG pass, which should be a lot easier with its reduced size. It's also included free as part of the Fortnite Crew, so dedicated Fortnite players probably won't be too annoyed about the price remaining the same.

This isn't the first time that Fortnite has done something like this with its less-involved seasons and spin-off reward paths. Both the Star Wars and Jujutsu Kaisen events had mini battle passes that cost even more than a normal battle pass at 1,000 V-Bucks, despite also not having the standard 100 tiers of rewards like most seasons of Fortnite offer.
