Fortnite's latest season got off to a quieter start than usual earlier this month. Largely because its theme is based on a war and flaunting that as Russia's invasion of Ukraine continues would have been a pretty poor judgment call. There was no big event to mark one season ending and another beginning, and the majority of the news surrounding the arrival of chapter three, season two revolved around 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the removal of Fortnite's building mechanic.
The other big story coming out of the new season was Epic's pledge to donate all money made from player spending in Fortnite for its first two weeks to charities aiding Ukraine. The number of people buying new cosmetic items and unlocking the new battle pass coupled with people spending more to aid those in Ukraine led to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:💙$36 million being raised in a single day.
The two-week period during which all Fortnite profits will go to the people of Ukraine doesn't come to an end until this Sunday, April 3. However, it was revealed via Fortnite's Twitter account this week that the amount donated so far has now surpassed $100 million. Pretty remarkable, and that number will only continue to grow bigger as we head into the final weekend of the two-week period.
In the tweet, Epic reminded Fortnite players exactly where their money is going, adding World Central Kitchen to the list of charities. Epic previously revealed it is donating the money as and when it has been spent in-game as opposed to waiting for the funds to clear. That effectively means Epic has donated the $100 m𒅌illion and counting out of its own pocket, and that money will be replaced by what has been spent since the start of season two in time.
As touched upon above, Epic made the controversial decision to remove building from Fortnite for the first week of the new season. , but the lack of it for that week and a bit was so popular, a number of Zero Build modes have been peꦯrmanentlyꦓ added to the game. If you prefer your enemies to stand and fight rather than hide in a fort until the storm closes in, there's now a Fortnite mode just for you.
