Fortnite's current season is about to come to an end after more than a month-long delay, a💙t which point Chapter 2: Season 3 will be ushered in.

Throughout the final months of 2019 and the beginning of 2020, Fortnite appeared to be stuck in the first season of its second chapter. Epic delayed the end of the season so often that it wound up being the longest in the game's history. Season 2 has undergone similar delays, but not quite as many, and Epic has fill𒊎ed the e🏅xtra time with plenty of other events and stuff to do.

So🤪 when exactly does Season 2 end and Season 3 begin? Well, the transition was supposed to take place all the way back on April 30, 2020. That date feels like a lifetime ago considering the current global climate. Before that date came and went, the end of Season 2 was delayed by more than a month to June 4, 2020. One week out from that date, and the changeover has been delayed again.

Not by quite as much, but still frustrating for players eagerly anticipating what the end of this season and the start of a new one might bring. Epic revealed on May 28, 2020, that the end of the season has been delayed by another week, moving it up until June 11. The developer has been as tight-lipped about this delay as it was about the first, citing nothing more than it's "an effort to get everything ready." Oka𒀰y then.

Unlike the ending to Season 1, it does feel as if something big is coming. Something that revolves around The Agency right in the middle of the map. Clouds are circling around the already ominous looking building, and there are various items in and around it that point towards an upcoming ꦦDoomsday. The hatches, the door, and most notably, the Doomsday Machine.

Epic loves nothing more than blowing something up at the end of a Fortnite season, and what better way to get that done than by using a Doomsday Machiღne? The machine is still with Midas in his office, but sooner or later players can bet it will make its way out onto the map. Not in the nextಌ few days following the additional delay, but at some point between now and the end of the season on June 11.
