Following a brief period of downtime Fortnite Season 3 is now live, and it comes with sharks, Aquaman, and, aꦗs expected, a whole lot of water.

Fortnite players have had an inkling that Season 3 would be water-based ever since an image of the Battle Bus skimming the wat💮er's surface was leaked via the PS Store. That inkling was officially confirmed on Monday when The 🦩Device emerged from The Agency and turned the game's storm into an intimidating wall of water.

As of this morning, Season 3 is up and ready t𒐪o play, and the water-theme plays a big role. Since the majority of the map has now been f🎃looded, leaving locations such as Weeping Woods and Slurpy Swamp submerged beneath the waves. Since getting around will now require traveling through and on water, other ways of getting around have been added to the game.

That includes waterskis, and not just any old waterskis. Waterskis that when used, the player is pulled along the surface of the water by a shark. Players will need to go fishing for sharks in order to use this item. Boats will also be more important than ever before, and Epic has revealed that as the water subsides, and the map is once again revealed, cars will be available to drive in Fortnite for the first time ever.

The trailer, and the Battle Pass trailer, for Season 3 has also confirmed the arrival of Aquaman. There will be, at least, two Aquaman skins available to unlock for Battle Pass holders as it appears the DC hero's Fortnite role will be similar to the one Deadpool has held for the past four months. We look forward to players dressed as Deadpool squaring off against others dressed as Aquama❀n, a battle you're not going to get anywhere else.

But wait, there's more! New NPC enemies called Marauders have been added to the game, and the place where The Agency once stood is now home to some sort of brand new fortified base. There's also a new skin, again unlockable via the Battle Pass, which appears to be a relative of Season 2's Meowscles. The tiny ver🍷sion of the bruising agent sits in its very own mech body and is our very favorite part of Season 3 at this early stage.
