A French media company decided to start its own Twitch channel but then got banned for dropping in N-✃bomb in the first five minutes.
While American companies are still desperately trying to hold on to the traditional media content mo🥀del of cable television and movies, other countries are embracing the new age of digital media. France is one such country where media companies are looking at Twitch and seeing an opportunity rather than a rival.
Webedi♔a already owns a French Twitch channel called “” (or “the stream” if you pull the two words apart) and wanted to continue their expansion on the platform with a new channel called “leLIVE.” This channel would be dedicated to more live-streamed content, including live interviews and skits, and would be "intended for y🌃oung people and mainly for Millennials."
Twitch wasn'🧜t th🌞e only place where leLIVE would broadcast. The French web TV channel would also be shown on YouTube, Amazon, Molotov, Facebook, Dailymotion, Instagram, TikTok, and their own dedicated . It would produce 50 hours of original content per week and start streaming from 5 PM to midnight.
It would also feature a cast of rotating hosts from French television, including Agathe Aup🔯roux, Michel൲ Cymes, and comedian Kevin Razy.
To put it mildly, the launch of leLIVE did not go well. Wi🌜thin the first five minutes of the channel’s launch, Razy uttered the phrase “YouTube money, n------.” Four hours later, Twitch banned leLIVE for the racist epi🌠thet.
That wasn’t the only controversy that struck during leLIVE’s launch.ཧ Technical difficulties also caused an , while Razy’s r𓃲equests for audience participation also .
To top it off, someone stole leLIVE's Twitch channel after it was banned and is now demand🎐ing that .
French media reports tha🍰t the channel was , so it's unknown if they’ll even bother getting it back on Twitch. LeLIVE will broadcast again at 5 PM local time tonight on its website and other streaming platforms.
