Shortly after the reveal, director Junya Ishizaki explained that Elden Ring Nightreign wouldn't iไnclude a ജdedicated two-player option, whicꦿh was seen as a slightly bizarre decision by a lot of people. If you want to play with just one other person, you're forced to have a random stranger tag along for the ride, which is obviously not ideal for any party involved.

At the time, Ishizaki explained that the decision to restrict the multiplayer to three players was to help "retain that sense of accomplishment you get from battling a boss together", but it wasn't really a satisfying excuse for many. After so many people started expressing their frust🦹ration, it now seems as thಞough FromSoftware may buckle from the pressure.

Elden Ring Nightreign Might Be Getting A Two-Player Option After All

, Ishizaki once again addressed concerns about potentially playing the game as a duo, saying that there's "definitely no issue there" since you can jump into a game with a randomer. Not a great statemen🦩t from the director, but he does follow that up with a bit of hope, as he says that FromSoftware is "considering" adding a two-playe🌳r option.

“Regarding having just two players, not three players or solo, it is something we are considering, but it is curren༺tly not in the game atꦜ the moment.”

It's a little difficult to imagine FromSoftware adding something of that magnitude, what with the game just a few months out from release. We learned yesterday that Elden Ring Nightre🎀ign will launch on May 30 lat♌er this year, so there's not much time to make sweeping alterations based on fan feedback. However, it's possible a two-player mode could be adde🍒d after launch, so here's hopi🔯ng FromSoftware listens to the fans.
