American McGe🌟e has shared the ಞnarrative outline for his proposed third entry into the Alice series, Alice: Asylum.
Alice: Asylum is currently in the design process and has been put together by McGee in consultation with his Patreon backers, in a process McGee calls "crowd design". , This narrative outline details the plot of the third Alice game and was written by McGee and Alex Crowley. The document was finalised on August 20, implying t♕hat it was only recently fiꦍnished.
, saying, "The "Alice: Asylum" Narrative Outline PDF is now publically accessible over on my Patreon. You can join in the Crowd Design process even if you aren't a Patron (though you should feel cheap and dirty if you do, I mean it's like $1 a month, come on man)".
McGee later said, "The narrative contained within is still very much a Work In Progress. Some elements (dialogue for example) may seem downright clunky. The polishing phase for those things will come next as part of the Crowd Design process," he added. "After that, this content will be used to drive the production of the Design Bible. And keep in mind that this con💧tent is not an ex✅haustive collection of everything we imagine will be in the game - but the minimum amount required to convey the main story. Once this document is locked, there will be a need to craft additional dialogue, locations, and scenarios in greater detail."
, be aware that it essentially contains the whole story of a game that might possibly be made someday. McGee also issues content warnings for 💎"sce🦹nes describing themes of child abuse and family deaths" amongst others.
The end result of this narrative design is to get a third Alice game greenlit by EA so that it can start development. McGee was previously in discussions with EA to take control of the license himself, but considering the ongoing work being done to the game, it looks like he's not been successful in getting the rights back.
