A few of the best actors from Game of Thrones will be reuniting for a game of Dungeons & Dragons, in order to raise money for Red Nose Day.
Dungeons & Dragons survived for a long time without aid from movies or TV shows, as the fantasy genre was more present in books and video games than on the screen. The success of Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings helped drum up interest in D&D during the early '00s, while adult fans were brought back to the fantasy genre in the early '10s when Game of Thrones became the most talked-about TV show of the era. Game of Thrones might have🌄 torpedoed its legacy with a terrible final season, but D&D is more pop💃ular than ever, thanks in no small part to streaming shows with actors playing the game.
The worlds of D&D and Game of Thrones will be colliding next week when actors from the show will be taking part in a livestreamed game for charity. According to , a D&D game is being held on June 20 as part of the D&D Live 2020: Roll w/ Advantage weekend event. The gamౠe will be run by game designer Kate Welch, and the players will be Daniel Portman (Podrick), Gemma Whelan (Yara), Iwan Rheon (Ramsay), Kristian Na𝔉irn (Hodor), and Natalia Tena (Osha).
The actors will be playing brand new characters, so anyone hoping to see a dream team adventuring party of Game of Thrones heroes &a🔯mp; villains wil𝓡l be disappointed. The game is intended to be light-hearted in tone, as is befitting a one-shot that is meant to raise money for charity.
The D&D Live event in 2020 will be resorting to digital events, due to COVID-19 preventing people from being able to meet up and play in real life. D&D Live 2020: Roll w/ Advantage will still be entertaining the fans, with the Game of Thrones game, more information being revealed about Baldur's Gate III, and an event involving ten players com𒉰peting against each other in a place that is totally not Icewind Dale. These events will be helping to raise mܫoney for Red Nose Day, so check it out when it runs from June 18 to June 20.
