It has been almost a decade since a new main game in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dead Space series came out. There hasn’t even been an HD trilogy collection or anything like that which is a shame. What is cool is that the serie🍰s is coming back with a full reboot. Even though it was rumored, it was still a shock to see announced.
Right now the game looks pretty early. Is it coming🥀 out in 2022, or will it more likely be a 2023 release? Based on the track record of quarantine delays, the latter of the two looks more likely. 🦄Thankfully, there are plenty of action-based survival horror games out there to play in the meantime from obvious picks to more obscure ones.
Updated December 9th, 2022 by Geoffrey Martin: Fans of Dead Space are in for a spooky treat since there are myriad games to try out to get a similar experience. The sci-fi horror in Dead Space is visceral, intense, and terrifying. Fortunately, those same factors can be found in other games. Dead Spaced pleased many genre fans with its superb sense of atmosphere, exciting combat, and in-your-face scares. The following games should appeal to you if you enjoyed your time in the Dead Space series.
15 T🏅he Callisto Protocol
At the time of writing, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Callisto Protocol has just been released as of December 2022. This highly anticipated sci-fi horror game seeks to cater to the specific fanbase of Dead Space. While the game has received mixed reviews, one thing is clear: the game nails that sense of dread and atmosphere that became popular in the likes of Dead Space before it. The Callisto Protocol aims to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:keep you glued to the screen with terrifying locations and brutal combat.
In The Callisto Protocol, players step into the grimy shoes of Jacob Lee while aboard the Black Iron Prison, which, as you might have guessed, sits on Callisto, one of Jupiter's moons. Jacob must explore the derelict depths of this prison in order to survive and escape. The game throws players into chunky combat, spooky set pieces, and more along the way.
14 Evil West
Taking a more lighthearted approach, yet still providing a unique and creepy setting, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Evil West is here to consume your time with wild west horror shenanigans. Evil West might not initially be on your radar as a fan of Dead Space, however, you shouldn't skip out on this one. In an era of live service and online multiplayer popularity, Evil West drops by to showcase why pure single-player games are still a true delight. However, the game can also be played in co-op.
Evil West tasks you to play as a brooding a✨nd beefy vampire hunter who must quell a supernatural threat to the American Frontier. This wild west and horror mashup will appeal to fans of Dead Space since it relies heavily on (mostly) linear narrative moments, brutal and over-the-top combat, plenty of weapons and upgrades, and lots more. While Evil West might have more of a "B-movie" horror approach, it still provides a thoughtful and fun horror-adjacent experience.
13 Signalis
For something completely different, at least in terms of scale and scope, look no further than the indie sci-fi survival horror game Signalis. In Signalis, players take on the role of Elster, a unique Replika character who must survive the horrors of a harrowing dystopian landscape. Eschewing modernity, Signalis goes for a more classic survival horror experience akin to the likes of the original Resident Evil or Silent Hill, albeit, with a ♚sci-fi cosmic twist.
The game revolves around exploring this dreadful world, unfolding the mysterious storyline, solving intricate and creative puzzles, and battling a host of robotic foes who seek to send Elster to her demise as quickly as possible. Signalis might be a smaller experience than the likes of Dead Space, however, its indie roots mean it ꦿthrives off of sheer creativity, especially in its sense of disturbing atmosphere.
12 Cold Fear
Cold Fear is a truly underrated and overlooked third-person horror game from the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:PlayStation 2 era. Unfortunately, many horror fans looked past this title since it was released close to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Resident Evil 4, a g꧂ame that needs no introduction in the horror community.
Cold Fear tasks you to play as a Coast Guard member known as Tom Hansen. Tom receives a harrowing distress signal from a nearby whaling vessel and must now explore. Cold Fear 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:has a truly incredible atmosphere where you feel like you are lost at sea on a haunted ship. Plus, the ship even rocks in the waves which directly and dynamically affects the way you ♌explore and battle the creepy enemies.
11 Infliction: Extended Cut 😼
Infliction: Extended Cut is a top-notch first-person horror experience that doesn't feel out of place sitting alongside the likes of P.T. or Layers of Fear. While Infliction: Extended Cut doesn't feature the prominent space horrors that Dead Space does, it still has one of the most terrifying explorable locations in all of horror games.
You play as a husband who must disꦺcover the untimely and grisly death of his wife. The haunted houseꦏ you find yourself in is brimming with ghostly audio cues, twisting corridors, and plenty of bumps in the night. This one will stay with you long after you shut it off for the evening.
10 Alan Wake
Now is the best time to check out 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Alan Wake because it is getting a remaster. It’s not as good as getting a remake like Dead Space or a sequel but fans of the original are surely excited. This sees 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the titular character vacationing in a q🌺uiet town filled which is ✃soon filled with shadowy nightmares.
All he wants to do is write but he gets much more than he bargained for. It's as close to a Stephen King game as fans can get right now.
9 Alien: Isolation 💯
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Alien: Isolation might be the best game in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:this film franchise ever conceived. That’s because the developers nailed the tension of the films. 𝓡Aliens are not supposed to go down easily. They’re walking nightmares that ki💯ll their prey with stealth and ease.
The AI of them was perhaps a bit too smart, making the game very challenging. For those seeking anoth♐er horror game in space, this is a good find.
8 Bi꧑oShock Series
BioShock took the gaming world by storm when it launched thanks to its unique setting, story, and gameplay. Pleꦕnty of horror games were set in haunted mansions or space, but no one had ever created an undersea biodome quite like this before.
The sequels are fun too but the setting of the original game was haunting and exhilarating all at once. From the Splicers to the Big Daddies, every enemy in the game presented p🐭layers with a sense of reward for being able to take these horrors down.
7 Control
Control is a more recent sci-fi action game with plenty of spooky things in it, too. It is recommended to wear headphones when playing t𒁃his game because there are whispers heard throughout the cursed building. Wearing them will create a good atmosphere. Jesse, the main character, is try🉐ing to find answers to her past.
The only people she thinks can help are a mysterious bureau that, upon arrival, is suffering from a horrific fate. It’s a good mystery along with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a fun game filled with plenty of cool guns and powers.
6 Dino Crisis 3 ꦡ
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dino Crisis 3 is often panned as the worst game in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:this short-lived series. There are many reasons why it is considered bad such as the story, camera angles, empty spaces, and so forth. Then there are somꦓe 🎐that hold it in high regard. It’s about shooting dinosaurs in space.
It may be😼 divisive and hard to play nowadays but one has to admit that sounds like a cool premise even if the execution was flawed.
