The dust has settled and Indomitus has gone, revealing in its fading wake three shadowy obelisks. These are the new Warhammer 40,000 Starter Boxes and are direct replacement✱s for their 8th Edition prede🍸cessors.
For the first time in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Warhammer 40,000 history, 8th Edition saw the introduction of not one but three starter boxes, with each aimed at a different level of interest. For total newcomers to the game, the low-cost First Strike gave an entrance into the hobby. It came with simplified rules and some easy to build models to get you going. The next level up was for someone familiar with the game and perhaps had already played a few battles; this is where the Know No Fear set came in. It featured more models than First Strike and gave a more true experience to the full game. Both of these boxes were released later than the Dark Imperium starter set thaꦰt came out at the start of 8th Edition. All three could be combined to expand either the S🥃pace Marines or Deathguard and provided a natural progression from beginner to advanced player.
Things are a little different this time around. The Indomitus limited availability launch box gave amazing value for money, just from the sheer volume of new models alone, and was a new entry point to the 9t🐓h Edition, aimed at existing players but accessible by newbies as well. Now that this has gone, GW needed something to bring new players to the table and this is where the new Starter Boxes come in. Each has a red “Start Here” banner emblazoned at the top telling us that this is where to start. Gone are the names, being🍬 replaced with an edition moniker
Recruit Edition replaces First Strike and comes with everyth🅘ing you need to start playing; dice, some rules - in the form of the Recruit Handbook, a fold-out battle mat, a transfer sheet, six Space Marines, and fifteen Necrons. Part of the box also converts to a cardboard building.
Next up is the Elite Edition that is replacing Know No fear. It is similar to the former but comes with some additional Necrons and Space Marines on B🌳ikes. The rules are upgraded to an Elite Handbook.
Finally, the Command Edition is the most complete set and is a replacement for Dark Imperium but this time around it comes with some scenery rather than any extra models. You also get a copy of the hardback rule book and an ꦿupgraded Command Handbook.
To ro🤡und things out, GW also tagged on news of a new multi-part kit for 3 Bladeguard Veterans. We expect everything to become available in the next few weeks.
