Dreams has been awarded the most 🐈original game and best PlayStation 4 game at Gamescom 2019. Which is a bit ironic since the best use for Dreams has so far been to remake other games.

Media Molecule should be proud. Their new sandbox puzzle creation game, Dreams, has been getting rave reviews since it was released to early access in April. The LittleBigPlanet and Tearaway makers are well versed in the creation of strange games that let you make things, and Dreams has all that in spades.

The core of Dreams is a puzzle game. Players control an “imp” which basically replaces your mouse cursor and can be used to crea♈te items, manipulate objects, or “posses🅰s” characters. In each level (or “dream”, in the parlance of the game) you’ll need to use your imp’s abilities to figure out the puzzle and proceed.

Dreams also comes with a custom level creator that allows players an untold amount of creative control. You thought Mario Maker was cool? Mario’s got nothing on Dreams.

Dreams’ level creator is so powerful, so customizable, and so easy to use that it’s turned players into one-person developers. We’ve already seen Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy VII, and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron remade in dreams, and that’s just scratching the surface. If you want to replay an older game that the developer refuses to remaster, then there’s probably a Dreams version of that game you can try.

And these aren't just fun recreations. The 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Metal Gear Solid project actually has specifically designed metal crates and an alarm that mimics the original PlayStation game's graphics. In the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy VII dream, the designer added in remixed versions of the game's battle music. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Rogue Squadron used the original N64 game's sound effects and voice actors to recreate that authentic feel of a space aౠrcadꦦe shooter.

So it’s just a touch ironic that the best thing about Dreams isn’t how original it is (🐠even though it’s totally original), it’s how it can be use🔯d to recreate unoriginal things.

Eh, guess that’s just the power of retrogaming.
