In Fallout: New Vegas, there’s actually a hidden model of the narrator that looks like voꦏice actor Ron Perlman.

Fallout games are all abou♏t tradition. Nuka Cola, bottlecaps as currency, crazy wastelanders always trying to pillage and plunder, and of course, certain recurring voice actors.

Ever since the days of the very first Fallout, Ron Perlman has played the series’ narrator for whenever the game needed narration (which turned out to be quite a lot). He told the story of The Vault Dweller as they searched for a new water chip for Vault 13, he to♊ld the subsequent tale of The Vault Dweller searching and finding the GECK, and he weaved words of The Lone Wanderer as he made his way throughout the Capital Wasteland.

Perlman also recurred his role a♎s narrator at the beginning and end of Fallout: New Vegas, explaining the actions and consequences of The Courier throughout their career in the Nevada desert. Depending on your daring exploits, Perlman had either 🥀a lot or very little to say about what you got up to during the three-way battle between Mr. House, the New California Republic, and Caesar’s Legion.

However, in order to actually get Perlman to sp♉eak the developers of New Vegas needed to resort to a time-honored tradition ꦏin programming: getting around their code using some janky workarounds.

You see, nothing in New Vegas can make noise from nowhere. This means that ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚa faceless and unseen narrator can’t actually exist. In order to have a narrator, there has to be a thing doing the talking. So, when you’re looking at that nice slideshow atღ t🃏he end of the game, there’s actually a physical model of Ron talking to you just off-screen.

He’s called , and he’ll never actually be viewable unless you resort to console commands. If you do actually m♏ake him appear, he won’t really say much. He just kinda stands around like an old, one-eyed dude wearing Legion centurion armor.

Unless you’re at the end game credits of cou⛦rse. Then he’s actually narrating everything you hear from behind the slideshow curtain. Again,♊ you can’t see him without performing some console commands, but if you do, you’ll just see him talking in an empty room to nobody in particular.
