Geralt, Yen, and Ciri become something of a family throughout the events of The Witcher series. This fact is widely known amongst 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Witcher 3 players (at least those who chose to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:romance Yennefer) and fans of the books alike.
The game was done in seventeen languages. Sixteen of which, the mother-daughter relationship between Yen and Ciri is implied at best. However, the Polish dialogue holds closest to author And🍨rzej Sapkowski𝄹's original intentions for the bond between the sorceress and the witcher girl.
In the events of The Witcher 3, when Geralt rescues Ciri and brings her back to Kaer Morhen, there is a beautiful cut-scene in which Yennefer uncharacteristically squeals and runs to embrace Ciri. She then appraise♓s the girl at arm's length, and the Eng🀅lish translation reads, "My, you've grown beautiful!"
This sentiment holds weight for Sapkowski's readers primarily. In the book, Blood of Elves, Yen addresses Ciri several times as 'my ugly one,' much to the little witcher girl's aggravation. This is while Yennefer plays the role of Ciri's mentor at the Temple of Melitele in Ellander. However, in the next novel, Time of Contempt, Yennefer references Ciri as her daught﷽er for the first t🐓ime. From that point on, Yennefer's maternal bond to Ciri is made clear on multiple occasions throughout the book series.
The Witcher 3's Polish dialogue honors this mother-daughter relationship. Where every other rendition cut the line, the original Polish version reads,꧂ "Córeczko, ależ ty wypiękniałaś." This translates to "My daughter, you've grown beautiful."
The word 'Córeczko' could be interpreted as a generally endearing term one might use to express a deep fondness, such as 'darling.' However, given the history between the two characters, it's likely meant to be interpreted di✨rectly as a canonical reference to the books.
Those who have only played the games may regard Yennefer as heartless and selfish. However, the games only scratch the surface of the sorceress's complex personality. In the games, a lot of Yennefer and Ciri's history is left to assumption and vague references, right up until the events of The Witcher 3.
Whether it was a choice or a matter of limitations, it's a shame CD Projekt Re🐟d didn't explore Yennefer and Ciri's relationship further. It's beautiful at least that the game expressed a glimpse of their bond and preserved it in the series' native language.
