Rod Fergusson, the long time developer best known for his work on the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Gears of War series, has officially left 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Microsoft. After helming production on the Xbox exclusive for nearly six years, Fergusson will be joining Blizzard to take charge of the Diablo franchise.
Fergusson had been involved in every Gears of War game since the series was first launched in 2006. His resume gets even more impressive the more you read, as the long time developer has also worked on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Half-Life, Microsoft Train Simulator, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:BioShock Infinite, Unreal Tournament, and Infinity Blade. He's oneꦐ of the most prꦕominent veterans in the field, and his body of work speaks for itself.
The developer began his career with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Epic Games, where he worked on the early Gears games, and famously 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:almost pulled the plug on Fortnite. He then oversaw the final leg of production on BioShock Infinite with Irrational Games, before being hired by Microsoft to once again work on Gears of War after it had r🌳ecently been purchased from Fergusson's former company.
Now, Blizzard has trusted the development veteran to helm the Diablo series, one with a storied history and dedicated fan base. Given that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Diablo IV was recently announced at last𒁏 year's Blizzcon, he'll definitely have his hands full. The task certainly sounds like a tall one, but there aren't many developers out there more equipped to handle it than Fergusson.
Whether or not a Gears of War 6 will be released any time soon has yet to be seen. Gears of War 5 left a few plot points unresolved, so there is definitely room for a sixth installment. That being said, no announcement has been made yet, and it's uncertain who will fill Fergusson's shoes.
