Accor🌳ding to , Gen Z loves gaming more than any other age group - even Millennials! Their love for the medium is such that 26 percent of people in that classification said that video games are their top entertainment activity, 87 percent said they play games daily or weekly, and 10 percent said they stream movies or TV shows. This led the team to find out which video game characters made a bigger impression on the younger generation and how memorable they are compared to cultural icons of the past and present.

GetCenturyLink surveyed 1,800 people aged 16-24 and found that Gen Z recognizes Sonic the Hedgehog 83% of the time, and William Shakespeare 62 percent. If that's not interesting enough, they are also more likely to recognize Pikachu (85%) than civil rights activist Rosa Parks and singer Dua Lipa (72 percent and 63 percent, respectively).

To put these statistics into perspective, Gen Z correctly recognized video game characters at an average rate of 80 percent, but only ident𝔉ified public figures, living or dead, with 56 percent accuracy. 🍸The top five spots were evenly spread out to people with different titles: two artists, one activist, one politician (Winston Churchill), and one CEO (Bill Gates).

Zoe Saldana didn't make the cut for the top five most recognized cultural icons, and Gen Z only recognized her 40 percent of the time, despite her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Gamora from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Guardians of the Galaxy and her status as one of the top-grossing actors of all time. Maybe the eight Avatar films will change that. President Thomas Jefferson also didn't get the spot, as 43 percent recognized him correctly out of the five Founding Fathers.

Because the pool of survey respondents is very small, the statistics are not representative of Gen Z at large. Even s𝄹o, the mass appeal that video games have is no secret, especially with younger generat🧔ions.
