What Is Bond of Life?

Bond of Life is a status condition introduced in Fontaine. You usually see it employed b🍒y the Fatui in Font⭕aine, though Arlecchino makes use of it as well.

Bond of Life is like the reverse of a shield. When it's active, it prevents your character from recovering health. This amount is determined when it is first cast and the amount of HP regen it steals from its target is how much healing needs to be done before your character can recover HP.

In order to get rid of Bond of Life, you either have to heal it for as much as Bond of Life has stolen from the character, or you have to go to a Statue of the Seven.

So, for example, Klee has 10,000 HP when a Fatui Agent hits her with a Bond of Life worth ten percent of her HP. Bond of Life will put a healing cap on Klee worth that ten percent, which is 1000 HP. In order to get rid of it, Klee will have to be healed by 1000 HP. Any healing she receives until she h꧒its the cap will not increase her HP, i▨nstead it just reduces the bond.

Bond♛ of Life does not disapꦗpear on a character switchout.

How Arlecchino Uses Bond of Life

Arlecchino is a very unique character because she actively makes use of Bond of Life to her advantage. Her Elemental Skill inflicts Blood-Debt Directive onto enemies, which deals Pyro damage periodically. By following up with a charged attack, she absorbs their Blood-Debt Directives and turns them into a Bond of Life worth 65 percent of her maximum HP.

If you wait for five seconds before absorbingᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ the Bond Of Life, you can get up to 130 percent of her maximum HP from one enemy.

However, you can only get a maximum of 145 percent BoL from one Skill's directives, so it's recommended to absorb them instantly if you're fighting multiple enemies

When Arlecchino has a Bond of Life worth 30 percent or more of her HP active, her regular attacks deal increased pyro damage based on her current Bond of Life. Almost every ♛normal attack in this manner re꧃duces her Bond of Life and the Elemental Skill cooldown.

Arlecchino cannot be healed by regular healing, but she does have a way to heal herself. With her Elemental Burst, she not only deals Pyro damage, but she also clears her active Bond of Life,and Blood Debt Directives, ends her Elemental Skill cooldown, and heals herself.

Arlecchino's signature weapon, Cr🦹imson Moon's Semblance, gives her a Bond of Life when she does a Charged Attack, allowing her to get buffs quicker.

How Enemies Use Bond of Life

Fatui Operatives in Fontaine make use of Bond of Life to take down several members of your team at once by r൩educing your healing capacity.

Fatui Operatives cannot take Bond of Life off your characters once it is cast, nor will it disappear once they are defeated. The only way to remove it is by healing for the full amount of the bond.
