168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Genshin Impact's Jean is about as useful as a party member can be in an action RPG -- 10 out🐽 of 10 party synergy offline and online, outstanding crowd control, an easy-to-charge mass heal to keep your co-op friends in the fight, the list goes on.
For all of the great things that can be said about Jean, however, there are areas of her design leaving something to be desired. Story-wise, the commander of The Order Favonius is a bit boring, and for a character of her stature that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:just doesn't make sense.
10 Energy Drinks From Lisa???𓆏
Filling Grand Master Varka's shoes is no small task. To address the tasks that fall to the Grand Master, Jean wakes up at first light and finishes her workout before breakfast. Jean's duties keep her busy into the evening and, according to her friendship lines, she also finds time to do🐓 her own laundry.
To keep pace Jean relies on energy potions supplied by Lisa... the one knight that everyone else 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:relentlessly derides as lazy. we see Lisa lead an investigation into a murder, meanwhile Jean mostly stands around, despite having witnessed said murder. Lisa stayed awake for two days in search of clues, and is responsible for🌠 keeping the pep in Grand Masters step, all while being berated for her laziness... who's really in charge here?
9 🐻 🍰 Most Important Knight, Least Developed Character
Despite being the most famous woman in Mondstadt, the plot doesn't tell you much about Jean. Her friendship lines reveal her to be a bit of a girl scout, befitting, but hardly interesting. Her design is excellent visually, if not a bit too reminiscent of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sabre from Fate. Joan of Arc/Jeanne D'Arc is also a tired anime archetype (and historical figure, of course) that Jean is clearly mimicking. Everyone 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:loves Jean on the battlefield, it'd just be nice if she had more personality to go with eve🦄rythin♐g else.
8 𒁃 Close to Her Mother Who Is Seldom Mentioned
The Gunnhildrs are rev𓆉ered in Mondstadt, so much so that Jean opted to carry on 𓆉her mother's maiden name and preserve the lineage of this knightly house -- an arrangement that probably didn't irk her father much, given his pacifist tendencies and commitment to Mondstadt's church.
It's strange, however, given the clout associated with the Gunnhildr name that matriarch Frederica isn't given more background, or any screen time. The community knows more about Klee's mother and has seen 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:far more of Diluc's father who, by his son's admission, was merely 🥃a well connected businessman𝓰 in the end.
7 ♏ War And Peace
Speaking of Jean's father and the church of Mondstadt, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:younger sister Barbara likewise followed in the footsteps of the other parent. In Jean's story page it's explained t❀hat the split between her parents, while amicable, did somewhat estrange the two sisters. It's said that both exchange little more than awkward glances in each other's directions. But why? The Knights are a holy order, akin to crusaders, and work closely with the church. Why would two sisters so devoted to allied factions find discomfort in each others' company?
6 History With 💞Diluc?
Some fan theories become so ubiquitously accepted by the community that you think of them as canon. The fandom can't help but read into a different kind of awkwardness between the lines exchanged by Diluc and Jean. There isn't a ton of evidence here, just a vibe that people notice.
But, given all of the anime tropes employed by the narrative so far, it's almost weirder that the🉐re isn't a love triangle, or even a r🎶omance sub-plot, in the game yet. If that ever happens, a union between Mondstadt's two most prominent families wouldn't be unexpected.
5 ꦅ Praises And Neglects Amber 🥂
Fans may have 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:crowned her "the queen of useless" but when it comes to plot progression Amber is basically the most influential knight. In the manga Amber makes Collei an ally of the order, allowing Lisa and Jean to uncover the Fatui's scheming, and she discovers the mechanized golems created by Il Dottore. In her voice lines🌟 Jean praises Amber accordingly, but a reward or formal recognition is never given, Amber remains a lowly scout among the knights.
4 Er🌃udite? Or Useful Idiot?
The goldfish-like attention span of Genshin's plot makes it easy to⭕ forget that the motivations of your character are very straight forward -- you lost your sibling, you're trying to find them. Every quest-gi🌜ving NPC is quick to offer assistance in finding your kin -- once you complete some of their chores -- and quicker still to renege later, Jean is no different.
In fact, she barely participates in any of the major fights. Did Varka simply appoint his most milquetoast apprentice to make sure nothing too exciting, bad or good, happened in Mondstadt in his absence?
3 Absent During Initial Fatui Conflict 🍸
The events preceding the game, depicted in the manga, couldn't have happened very long before you arrive in Mondstadt as Traveler. Many of the younger knights are teenagers when you meet them and have the same appearance -- even outfits -- in other media. This begs the question though, where is everyone when the Fatui first invade Mondstadt... and the♋ next time... and the next time? Jean may not have been Grand Master, bu𒉰t she was raised from birth by her mother to protect Mondstadt with her life.
2 Friends🦹 With Ningguang, Does Not Send Aid
Ningguang didn't dedicate her life to building the most opulent, floating manor in Liyue in order to spend more time looking up at others. The powerful oligarch is a friend to the Traveler (you) 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:but most other characters avoid her. It's a pleasant surprise to find out that Ningguang greatly admires Jean. It's probably an unpleasant surprise to the Qixing treasurer when -- spoiler alert -- in the midst of a siege on her castle by an 🎀ancient sea monster, her pen pal and military ally opts not to send reinforcements. Ouch.
1 𒆙 🅺 Reflected Glory
Etymology lesson incoming. When Venti needed a champion to lead Mondstadt's enslaved peoples in a rebellion against th🔯e masters he chose the gladiator Vennessa. Nicknamed "the lion's tooth" for her coliseum-worthy ferociousness, Vennessa earned her anemo vision and would later found The Ord⭕er Favonius.
"Dandelion" isn't related to the word "dandy," instead it's a corruption of the French "dent de lion" meaning lion's tooth. In Germany, where Mondstadt takes its likeness, "der löwenzahn" also means lion's tooth and dandelion, which is why Vennessa is introduced as Der Löwenzahn in the manga. The flower having the same name, and being associated with wind -- Venti's, Vennessa's, and Jean's element -- is a clever double entendre from miHoYo. Jean is also introduced as Der Löwenzahn, or Dandelion Knigh♛t, to identify her as Vennessa's successor.
Jean is a worthy Grand Master, but the comparison to Vennessa is a stretch. Vennessa single-handedly defended Mondstadt from dragons and drakes... Jean sends you -- newly stripped of your abilitꦡy to fly and having just discovered your wind magic five minutes pꦇrior -- to handle her dragon problem instead.
