Funnily enough, we planned this piece before 1.1 came out, and the content added in this massive update actually did include a transformation sequence for just one character, but this new form isn't playable. What Genshin Impact ne🐈eds is at least one character who "switches" forms as their Elemental Burst/Skill.
8 Too Anim💙e: Fanservice Visual Designs ꦍ
Going back to the fanservice angle for a second, Genshin Impact suffers from this trope visually as well. Just about every single female character in✃ the game is wearing a dress, skirt, or some variation. And, when the main features of the game are climbing and gliding, that sort of outfit doesn't seem too practical. This is all to say that while the designs in Genshin Impact are well-made anಌd unique, they're also obviously made to appeal to the part of the fanbase who adore fanservice. It would be one thing if one of the characters followed this trope, but almost all of them do.
7 Not Anime Enough:𝔉 Lacking Some Archetype Diversity
If there's one thing people know about a𝔉nime, is that most of them have tons of d♚ifferent archetype representation in their cast. There's the good-natured musclehead, the relatable yet milquetoast MC, the hotheaded rival, the bashful love interest, the emotionally distant and aloof antihero, and so many more potential character types.
Yet, while Genshin Impact does have a lot of these Archetypes, they're all so streamlined that they still kind of blend together an♚d become similar. Kaeya and Diluc, Xiangling and Paimon, and many more characters sort of overlap in their central personality theme.
6 Too Anime: The Important Characters Are Hilariously Obvi♐ous
Players never have to wonder who the important characters are in Genshin Impact, just like they don't have to wonder who's part of the main cast in a series like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is, it's always the 7-foot tall superhumanly buff guy (at least before part 5). The same thing is an issue in Genshin Impact, where playable or important characters have flashy designs, and everyone else is bland to an absurd 𝓰degree. Just look at any NPC design in Mondstadt or Liyue Harbor in comparison to even Xingqiu, one of the more tame designs, and it becomes clear as day.
5 Not Anime Enough: No Change In Character Appearance When Ascending 🤡
In almost every anime, especially in Shonen series, if the main character is going to go through a major power upgrade, they'll likely get a new transformation or design upgrade to go with it. Take Deku from My Hero Academia for example, who steadily gets more added to his Hero costume with every new skill learned. Unfortunately, this doesn't happen in Genshin Impact, and it very much should, considering this happens in most other gacha titles, and the weapons in-game already visually upgrade past a certain level too (if players ever ma🍒nage to gather all their important resources).

It's odd how much of a common trope it is in anime & video games that the main cast goes up against God itself. Well, Genshin Impact wastes no time falling into this trope, it's literally the first thing that happens in the game, where the Traveler and their sibling's face off against the God of Teyvat, And, this absurd power demonstration in the intro is only counteracted even harder when the same Traveler is running 168澳洲幸运5开奖网꧃:around trying to collect crabs to make food not longer than an hour later.
3 Not Anime Enou🍬gh: 🌞The Vision System Needs More Fleshing Out

This is one of the most tiresome tropes in the anime genre, the trope, of course, being the main character who everyone is in love with, who solves every problem, and who does everything well on their first try. Kirito from Sword Art Online, Rimuru from The Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime, the list goes on and on. And Genshin Impact has this in the form of the Traveler, the main character that every account starts with. Obviously, that wouldn't really match the PG-esque tone of Genshin Impacts. Allow players to pick their waifu, and there will be a dedicated fanbase behind this game for eons.
