Being the last boss of the expansion, she won't be beaten so easily. Read below to find out how the fight plays out and the best strategies to use against the Eagle.
Reaching The Eagle
Most of the DLC expansion has Jin Sakai winning over the trust of the raiders on Iki Island. The raiders don't trust samurai because of the prior invasion, but they have a mutual enemy so they put aside their animosity for the time being.
After reclaiming Fort Sakai in the middle of Iki Island, Jin and the raiders plan their attack on the Eagle. The mission where you actually confront the antagonist is called The Blessing Of Death. The mission leads to the place where Jin's father was killed. The Eagle is waiting for him and the duel between the two begins.
The First Phase of The Fight
The fight is divided into two parts where the Eagle's tactics change up slightly. The rules of the duel are just like any other. When an attack flashes red you have to dodge. If it flashes blue you have a chance to parry. The Eagle also switches between two different stances. In one she holds a🦋 knife. In the other, she wields her sඣtaff.
H🎀ere are the attacks to watch out♏ for when she has her knife:
- If she starts to slash from the side opposite of her knife hand, you will have to dodge. Dodge your left to counter
- If she steps back for an impaling motion, this move can be parried.
Here are her attacks with the staff:
- An unblockable attack where she starts walking toward you while spinning the staff. Keep dodging backward since this move covers a lot of ground
- Another unblockable move sees her stab forward quickly
- Another stab that looks exactly the same, but this can be parried
- Occasionally she jumps in the air and attacks from above. This move is dodgeable
Occasionally she will attack twice in a row but not often enough for it to be a big problem. Additionally, if you move too far away from her she'll start throwing knives your way. Keep close to prevent this from happening. The safest way to whittle down her health is by simply countering and parrying her attacks.
Second Phase
After taking out about half her health the second phase of the battle starts. This is marked by an extended cutscene with Jin talking to his late father. Her moves don't actually change that much, but she does seem to be more aggressive, attacking more frequently. Also, don't forget about your resolve. While this can be used for some techniques like Heavenly Strike, we recommend saving it for restoring health. Just press d🐓own on the d-pad to use up one resol𒈔ve and heal.
