Adapting a video game to a movie and making it faithful to the source material is a mighty tall order to fill. Chad Stahelski, director of the upcoming live-action 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ghost of Tsushima film, knows that much.

In an exclusive interview with at the red carpet premiere of The Matrix Resurrections, Stahelski said that he has seen how the majority of video game movies fail to amuse critics and fans who have played the games they're based on because filmmakers don't spend enough time studying the source material. With Ghost of Tsushima, he wants to go out of his way to ensure the movie comes out perfect by working with Sucker Punch and PlayStation Productions to avoid making the same mistakes other filmmakers have made regarding video game films.

"We just want to do it right," Stahelski said. "You know how video game adaptations can go. So, we're taking our time and doing it right. We're working very closely with the game developers to make sure we stick to what's great about it."

The live-action Ghost of Tsushima film has been in the works since revealed its existence in March, 2021 — more than half a year after the game's release on PS4. Sucker Punch representative Peter Kang is overseeing the project as Executive Producer. Stahelski said the movie is still in the scriptwriting phase and that he hasn't decided on the cast. This includes whether Daisuke Tsuje, the English voice actor for Jin Sakai, will reprise his role. He added that frequent gameplay of Ghost of Tsushima got him into the project.

Stahelski is known for directing the John Wick film series starring Keanu Reeves, with John Wick 4: Hagakure currently in post-production. Before he sat in the director's chair, most of his career involved performing and coordinating stunts — especially for The Matrix series wherein he acted as Reeves's stunt double in the first film and planned out stunts in Reloaded and Revolutions.
