Following several big God of War Ragnarok leaks popping up over the past few days, Cory Barlog, the director of 2018's God of War, has commented on the situation, apologising to those who now have to avoid leaks, as well as confirming that it comes from a retail copy.
Just y☂esterday we reported that some late-game spoilers for God of War Ragnarok had started spreading throughout social media𝔍, warning fans of the series to mute keywords and stay off Twitter, Reddit, and YouTube as much as possible to avoid any surprises being ruined. Some of those leaks are still out there as of the time of writing, which had many wondering if Sony has even noticed the situation.
It seems that Sony is aware of the situation, however, as , apologising to faꦐns who are having to avoid spoilers and suggesting that games should come with an installer on the disk to prevent early-access releases l💜ike this.
Barlog said, "you know, right now, I can really understand the benefit of having just an installer on the physical disc. smh. a retailer 🌃selling the game nearly TWO WEEKS before release. just so disappointing. sorry to everyone that you have to dodge the spoilers if you want to play the game fresh. completely fucking stupid you have to do this. this is not at all how any of us at SMS wanted things to go."
This isn't the first time that Barlog has commented on Ragnarok spoilers being spread around, around the same time that videos from the preview portion of the game were shared online.
Sadly, God of War Ragnarok isn't the only big game in November to have already had its street-date broken, as at least one copy of Sonic Frontiers has been spotted in🃏 the ♚wild. As we warned before, it's worth muting any keywords relating to either God of War and Sonic if you're interested in experiencing the games unspoiled, as the leaks are only going to get worse from here.
