Not only was it a critical darling that set up the franchise for another decad෴e-long run, but it left fans wondering about what challenges may face them in the sequel.
From secret endings to hidden letters, the game featured plenty of Easter Eggs worth discovering and figuring out the meaning of. Let's now take a look at the 10 Easter Eggs you may have missed your first time through 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:God of War (2018).
10 Mimir Will Tell Kratos About Freyr 🥀
When games like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:God of War use historical or mythological bases for their game's lore, it often leaves players scrambling to craft the best possible theories about the game-world at large and what could be the game's sequel. If you manage to complete 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:God of War and head back to Alfheim, you'll be treated with a possible tease🐲 about the sequel.
Kratos will discuss with Mimir, upon returning to the temple where you retried the light, and in doing so Mimir will ꧑explain the God of the Light Elves, Freyr.
9 Teach Atreus How To Summ൩on Ratatoskr ༒
The reason this entry is considered an Easter Egg is that despite it being an ability Atreus can learn, it's hidden in a very special chest that players have to go out of their way to find. The chest in question can be found at the top of the Light Elf Outpo✃st and upon opening it, players will imbue Atreus with the ability to summon the legendary Norse squirr🌳el known as Ratatoskr.
Depending on what type of arrows Atreu๊s had equipped, Ratatoskr will dig up either rage or health stones in an attempt to aide the player as best as it can.
8 𒀰 The Boat Captain & The Hydra
People who are more familiar with the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:God of War franchise and didn't hop into it via t🍰he 2018 release might find this Easter Egg quite nostalgic. If you happened to play the first game in the franchise you'll know that the game starts with Kratos fighting a hydra, which leads to him acquiring a key from a boat captain in the hydra's mouth, shortly before kicking the captain down the throat of the monster.
A treasure map in Stone Falls is labeled "The Boat Captai꧟n's Key" and goes as far as to reference the fateful events of the showdown with the hydra.
7 𝔍 The Boar's Identity
When players are introduced to Freya, it's by way of Kratos and Atreus almost killing her pet bo๊ar. On the surface, it may look like your everyday boar that she simply developed a kinship with, but its identity is much more complicated than that.
When you leave her house for the first time and prepare to journey out, turn around and go back inside. You'll learn that the boar's name isꦡ Hildisvini, which is a disguise for his real identity. He's a man named Ottar who is Freya's protege and a man sh✨e helped rediscover his ancestry and memories.
6 𒁃Atreus's True H🥀eritage
Great twists in entertainment are always best in retrospect, espeওcially when you realize that they were teased and foreshadowed long before they were revealed. Most players would say Atreus being revealed as Loki is one of gaming's biggest twists, and this was actual♛ly revealed near the beginning of the game.
During Kratos' first encounter with the stranger who was eventually revealed as Baldur, a stone slab used in the fight feature🎀s the same mural that is seen at the end of the game, but this one happens to be faded to conceal its details.
5 🌳 𒈔 Freya's Past
Freya at first seems to be nothing more than a witch living out her days in the middle of an enchanted forest. She's distant and blunt with Kratos and Atreus, so it seems there's much more to her. If you were familiar with Norse mythology, though, then ꦯyou were prepared for the optional reveal 💫from Mimir about Freya's past.
On top of being Baldur's mother, she was also at one point the queen of the Valk🃏yries. Kratos will learn this upon defeating the Valkyrie he initially thought was their queen in combat.
4 🥀 Kratos' Norse Connection
Are you one of the players who spent way too m🃏uch time in the mural room in Jotunheim, trying to decipher the meaning of it all? Well, one can translate the name above Atreus', which would reveal the game's big twist of him being Loki. However, some players wonder why and how Kratos is featured in a Norse mural, if he is tied to Greek mythology at hiꦫs core.
Apparently,🅘 the answer is right on top of Kratos' head. The symbols near his head translate♓ to Farbauti, which is the name of the husband of Laufey and the father of Loki. Once you find out the truth about Atreus and his mother, it all makes perfect sense.
3 Infinity Stones & The ♋Infinity Gauntleꦉt
In 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:God of War, it should come as no surprise that one of the equipable items for Kratos is a gauntlet meant to resemble that of the Infinity Gauntlet used in the Marvel Cinematic Unive🍌rse. The in-game item is called the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages, and it does mౠore than simply look the part.
Like the Marvel films, there are six enchantments you can collect in the game that will power up the gauntlet. Each one is an analog to the stones found in the♍ films and requires the player t🌼o pull off certain tasks or reach specific locations to get them. You can't snap away half of all known life in the game upon completion, though.
2 Loki's Name Is Hidden I🐠n Kratos' Home
It may have taken some time and effort, but the final Easter Egg in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:God of War was discovered. This secret was hinted at and later confirmed by the game's director, Cory Barlog.🐬 In Kratos' home players can find four Elder Futhark symbols that, 🍷when translated, spell out Loki.
Some of them require the use of the game's built-in photo mode to get the appropriate angles, which is why most players overlooked them during their first run. This type of Easter Egg works so well in hiding its♑elf because those symbols only matter if you take the time to consider their importance, which is barely hinted at.
1 Thor'🍃s Secret Ending ꦏ
Upon completing the game's main narrative, you may think that there's not much else to do in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:God of War outside of 100%-ing the game and collecting everything. Well, the developers over at Sony Santa Monica hid a secret ending that can only be unlocked ✅if the player takes Kratos and Atreus back to their home in the middle of the woods.
Upon returning several years will seem to pass and on one fateful day a hooded man cast in lightning will appear and reveal that he's wielding Mjolnir, T🐭hor's hammer, on his waist.
