This sentient sword outshines Thrud in terms of building up stun meters, and Thrud's damage output is not enough to drag her out of the bottom of this list.
7 Sindri
Sindri is the first companion you get when playing as Atreus. This dwarf is hilarious, especially when his germaphobe tendencies contrast the cruelty and mess of combat. While 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:he's an iconic character, for sure, his combat capabilities fall short.
Atreus is already great at ranged combat, so Sindri's random assortment of throwable bombs doesn't help with keeping your distance all that much. You still get hilarious conversations and some interesting insight into the dwarven brothers while with him, so that's always nice.
6 Angrboda

In combat, Angrboda uses colorful Giant magic and can summon a falcon as her runic attack to inflict a lot of damage and build up a ton of stun meters. She interrupts the attacks of many creatures, giving Atreus the opening to strike them down from afar. All of these things make Angrboda a great companion for Atreus, and seeing the battlefield as if the Holi Festival just took place is a fun visual contrast with the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:gloomy feel of the nine realms.
5 Brok
Brok, the second half of the blacksmith brothers, is defi☂nitely the better half of the duo. He has a subpar regular attack, throwing bomb-like projectiles at enemies. These attacks are semi-slow and thus not too helpful in dire situations. Where Brok shines is his runic attack.
When you hold square on your controller, Brok will create a blast around him that builds up an incredible amount of stun meter on enemies surrounding him. While he's not in the upper echelon of combat companions, this runic attack alone is enough to make Brok a decent ally. His snarky attitude is always a treat to witness, too, making him enjoyable throughout the adventure and never obnoxious.
4 Thor

On a complete reversal of expectations, you get to ally with Thor for a mission when playing as Atreus. However, the characterization of the God of Thunder is impeccable and a joy to witness, even if it feels like he's never on your side.
Unlike many others on this list, Thor is not a controllable companion. Atreus controls the sentient sword Ingrid during the mission, meaning Thor will help you as he pleases. While not the most reliable or common companion by any means, he's absolutely a menace. He melts through enemies, and the way the game utilizes him in the one mission he accompanies is perfect. Your time with Thor is short but sweet, for sure.
3 Ingrid
As aforementioned, Atreus gets hold of a sentient sword called Ingrid. Obviously, this sword is not as deeply realized as Kratos or as comforting as Angrboda, but it represents the whimsy of the Nordic lands beautifully. It's your classic sentient object that feels a bit mischievous and more like a pet than a weapon. Luckily, Ingrid is also amazing in combat.
It can help keep enemies occupied as you're raining down arrows with Atreus, giving you way more time to inflict damage before they can approach you. The runic attack is a flurry of air slashed that interrupts combos and builds up a very nice amount of stun meter. This companion is the best one you can get for Atreus, as it compliments his combat style perfectly. Who doesn't love a quirky sentient weapon, after all?
2 Freya
Freya was a major character in the first game, and fans have been excited to see where her story will go since 2018. She's one of the most three-dimensional characters, with doubts, ideals, and grievances. That makes her a great companion in terms of dialogue and lore, but luckily, she's also amazing in terms of combat.
She can use both kinds of arrows, sigil and sonic, just like Atreus. She also has close-range weapons and can wreak havoc on them. Freya compliments Kratos' brute force very well, giving you a ranged option. Her sigil arrows also increase the effectiveness of your elemental damages, which is great.
