During today's PlayStation Showcase, Sony confirmed that the next God of War, Ragnarok, will come to both PS4 and PS5 next year. The Ragnarok debut included new teases of Thor, an older Atreus, and all-father Odin.
The rumored Ragnarok adventure got the confirmation on its name today, while showing us a sequel that takes papa Kratos and his growing boy into a wintery world. For those of you who beat the first Norse entry for Kratos, the new footage confirms plenty you may have speculated about the ending. We're trying to stop Ragnarok.
And if you haven't beaten the 2018 game just yet, then the trailer reveals a lot. Ragnarok's new look shows the father-son duo clash just as they did before, with Atreus eager to find out more about his identity and Kratos refusing to let him act too hastily. There's also the booming voice of Thor, provoking a calmer, fatherly Kratos. Sony Santa Monica also confirmed you'll see the Asgard ruler, Odin.
Prior to the official announcement, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:whisperings around Sony's big conference just days ago already suggested God of War would show up with its big reveal. Balrog joined during the Showcase, teasing fans about his earlier denial on the offic༺ial name.
The 2018 follow-up was originally scheduled to be a 2022 project, but Sony and Santa Monica Studio say 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:God of War was delayed to provide a safer work environment and "top-quality game". The game's secretive nature hasn't kept the rumors at bay, and folks have long speculated that Kratos' son, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Atreus, may be a playable character.
Sony's expanding universe for its first-party titles isn't just limited to games now, either. However, it did confirm that God of War's next-gen upgrade won't be free, and if you want to play Ragnarok on PS4 and PS5 you'll need to pay a $10 upgrade fee to transfer your PS4 copy.
