It made the game a story-based blockbuster that reinvented its main protagonist and delivered one of the best games of all-time in terms of fan and critical reception. Whether you're a fan of Norse mythology, or just love God of War, the trailer had plenty of secrets and reveals that viewers either overlooked, or many didn't have the proper context or knowledge to dissect what they were seeing.
Updated September 25, 2022 by Lucas Olah: During a State Of Play released by Sony on September 13, we've got a new trailer for God Of War: Ragnarök. This trailer was more focused on the story, presenting more of how Atreus' actions will lead to the end of the Norse world, while still showing us some gameplay and previews of what seem to be key moments from the new game. From that, we got a few more details along with the plot, and here are some that may have gone unnoticed, along with some that are worth pointing out.
15 🍌 Tyr Tags Along
Not the most hidden of details, but still worth mentioning. The trailer shows gameplay segments where the other God of War tags along for the ride. The shots are quick, but he seems to accompany us similarly to how Freya does in the previous game. However, considering his also a god of war, and he's (probably) not cursed with being unable to fight, there's a good chance he'll help in combat, but that still remains to be seen.
14 The Mysterious Figure 👍 🍌
Due to behind-the-scenes knowledge, this entry could be considered spoilers for the next game, so be warned. During the trailer, a mysterious figure appears at Kratos' house and is greeted at the door by Atreus. He stays in the shadows, so only his silhouette is seen, but he also narrates a part of the trailer. Judging by his appearance, his words, and his voice, it's very likely that he's none other than Odin. The way he talks about our protagonists leads to the conclusion, and also his looks and voice are reminiscent of Richard Schiff, who is already confirmed to be the Allfather himself.
13 🌺 New Realms 🌞
This game will be the end of the Norse saga in God of War, something already confirmed from behind-the-scenes. Another part that is also confirmed is that every realm will be available (). After all, it's the last chance we have to see them all. Svartalfheim is shown in the trailers and images released, and some places remind us of Vanaheim as seen in Freya's house. With that, Asgard is likely a place most of the fans want to see, and it's only a matter of time before we experience it.
12 🐬 Valkyries Retu✃rn
One of the scenes that drags a lot of attention is a confrontation between Kratos and two Valkyries. First, they are in a very odd location, with space itself around them, almost as if they were in between realms, but it's hard to say where they are. Second, he's fighting two Valkyries at the same time, and, judging by how challenging they were, this will be no easy task. Still, for story purposes, this also shows the Valkyries, or at least some of them, are still loyal to Odin despite them being all locked up in the previous game.
Or they could be allied with Freya as well, but Odin is more likely, as they mention the Allfather during their appearance. The last option is being allied to both, considering Freya couldn't harm others in the previous game thanks to Odin, but she appears in the trailers fighting, suggesting that she's no longer bound like she used to.
11 Dark Elves 🌳Helpi🎉ng Kratos?
In a scene that clearly lacks context, we see Kratos running away with an unknown character unconscious on his shoulders. The world he's in is a mystery, with the best guesses being Vanaheim (Freya's homeworld) or Svartalfheim (Dwarves' homeworld).
Someone is controlling the plants around Kratos to stop him, which is likely Freya, who has such powers. Meanwhile, there's a fight happening in the back, and a Dark Elf is going towards it. It could simply be a common enemy and nothing more, but it is curious to see a Dark Elf ignoring Kratos after the events of God of War 2018.
10 🎀 Sköll And Hati 🦩
Towards the end of the trailer, we see two giant wolves briefly mentioned in Tyr's vault in during the previous game, although you may have enough information about it if you went for all the hidden myths (or if you know Norse Myths already). Sköll and Hati chase the sun and the moon respectively, and they'll complete this task on Ragnarök. Curiously, they're sons of Fenrir, who is a son of Loki, who is Atreus in the games, but it's hard to tell if this is how things will go in the game since this series is known for taking creative liberties. That and Atreus is too young and doesn't have any children.
9 ꩲ Mimir Disappears
Our favorite talking head appears in the trailer as well, though it doesn't have too much focus on him. In fact, he doesn't appear all that much, especially considering that he isn't always at our side. There are shots where Kratos has Mimir on his belt and some shots where he's simply not there. It's hard to say why, but it is noticeable. Whether something bad happened, or he's just hanging out somewhere else, only the game can tell us.
8 Kratos Cꩵan Grapple
The trailer for God of War: Ragnarok teased plenty of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:new gameplay mechanics,⛄ with one happening so quickly if you blinked you may have missed it.
It seems that Kratos will now have the ability to quickly grapple to ledges and pull himself up in a fast manner. This likely means the level design will reflect a need and use for this traversal mechanic, so it's safe to assume many of the new areas will have a refreshing sense of verticality to them, that wasn't always the case in the 2018 title.
7 🎃 Centaurs, Lizards, And Frog People ꦗ
A new game means there will be plenty of new enemies to take down. Alongside the foes players became familiar with in 2018's God of War, the new trailer showcased many of these old enemies but did also sprinkle in a few new enemy designs.
Among the more n⛎otable ones were the staggeringly tall centaurs, the giant amphibian that jumped at Kratos, and the frog-like beasts that stood on two legs. Look for the💛 game to be a mix of both familiar and new.
6 Thor's Voice Is Familiar
During the trailer, the deep and commanding voice of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the God of Thunder can b♛e heard. That voice should sound familiar as actor Ryan Hurst is taking on the role of Thor in God of War: Ragnaroᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚk.
Most people would be familiar with his rol𓆉e in the iconic sports film Remember the Titans, or more recently as the terri๊fyingly large antagonist named Beta on The Walking Dead. Hurst will look to bring a sense of gravitas to the role as the events of the game unfold in front of players in real-time.
