“We’re excited that Epic Games Store integration has come to GOG Galaxy 2.0,” said Steve Allison, Epic Games Store general manager. “It’s an important step towards breaking down walls between PC stores, as it enables a unified experience 🐼for players to manage their PC games library independent of where their games were purchased.”
To be clear, you'll still need to have the Epic Games Store launcher installed on your computer in order for it to integrate with GOG𒅌 Galaxy 2.0. Once integrated, you'll be able to access your Epic Games Store library and then launch it from within GOG Galaxy. This will still launch the Epic Game𒅌s Store launcher, but it will then automatically be minimized and your Epic game will start to play.
The big selling point is that GOG Galaxy 2.0 lets you view all your games and play them from just a single launcher. Your library is fully customizable and can be tagged, sorted, and filtered to your heart's content. It also integrates your friends lists and has cross-platform chat enabled so you're never mꦓore than a click away from your friends.
GOG Galaxy has a number of additional features, i🅷ncluding auto-updates, cloud saves, and viewable game stats that lets you view your hours played and achievements. GOG's latest feature allows you to view game install sizes🅘 from across platforms.
Galaxy 2.0 plans to add a Games Discovery section soon which will let y🌊ou see new and popular games. Currently, GOG only lets you see games on the GOG storefront, but things like the Steam Summer Sale and free offerings from Epic aren't vieཧwable. Once Games Discovery launches, you'll be able to see hot deals from everywhere in a single place.
