Although rumors tied to games-as-a-service models and co-op-exclusive campaigns have been linked to Gotham Knights in the wake of its recent gameplay reveal, it has since been confirmed that you can make your way through Gotha𒉰m Knights solo - and that's a perfectly acceptable way of playing.

This comes direct🐟ly from Gotham Knights senior producer Fleur Mart🥂y, who, alongside creative director Patrick Redding, recently spoke all things solo and co-op in an interview with . Single-player fans will be glad to know that despite rumors to the contrary, they did not get the short end of the stick when it comes to the overarching narrative of Gotham Knights.

When posed a question about whether solo play will be permissible or co-op is a mandatory aspect of Gotham Knights' story, Marty respond💯ed as follows:

"Yes, absolutely [you can play solo]," he said. "You can also completely experience [the game] in solo if you want to, you're not goꦦing to miss out on any♈thing."

"If you're playing single𓆉 player, you can be offline𓆏 if you want to," he added, specifically noting the potential for offline play - something that is becoming a rarer phenomenon at an alarmingly rapid basis. "We think that teaming up and living that dynamic duo fantasy can be also a really great experience for players, but we won't force it on them."

Gotham Knight cr🎐eative director Patrick Redding expanded on this, noting that 🧸a more limited co-op design permitted a narrative that made sense in both modes.

"Focusing more on the idea of the immediate team-up of two allowed us to say, 'OK, we can build a world that works perfectly weꦯll for either solo play or pairing off,'" Redding explained.

So, although you can jump in with a friend - but only one friend! - it's also completely possible to play through Gotham Knights on your own. As truly si𓆉ngle-player RPGs become fewer and far between in the world of live-service games, it's somewhat refreshing to se🌠e a hybrid entity encompassing both co-op and solo play.
