Even though it might feel as if everyone has been playing nothing but 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Elden Ring for the past three weeks, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Gran Turismo 7 launched this month and received a pretty warm welcome. The latest installment in the long-running racing sim landed itself an 87 on Metacritic, marking a very strong start to the year for PlayStation exclusives as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Horizon Forbidden West has also been showered with praise.
GT7's user score right alongside that 87 tells a very different story. A lowly 4.1, and you only need to read a few of the reviews to find out why. The game has made it notoriously difficult to unlock some of its cars. Prices have skyrocketed compared to the ones in Gran Turismo Sport and require hours of grinding if you want to unlock them. Then this week's 1.07 update hit and made that process even more grueling.
The backlash was pretty fierce from the GT7 community, and shortly after that, the game's servers went down. A pretty major issue since everything in GT7 needs a working internet connection other than its arcade mode. Shortly after the servers went down, it was communicated via the game's Twitter account that server maintenance had been extended due to an unspecified issue found in the update.
More than 24 hours after GT7 went offline, and 21 hours and counting since the vague tweet informing players as to why, the servers are still down. There has also been no further communication as to what exactly the problem was and why no one can play the game right now. It's possible this is a reaction to the backlash after the 1.07 update made it even harder to grind currency and unlock cars. If not, players will likely be twice as annoyed when the servers come back online. 24 hours and counting unable to access most of the game, and a big change to the game's already controversial microtransactions.
It's a real shame that a game as good as this, with stunningly beautiful cars and backdrops, is currently being marred by issues surrounding microtransactions. At $70, GT7 is already a top-tier game in terms of cost, so asking players to spend even more, and in some cases a lot more, isn't a great look. Hopefully the reason the servers have been down for so long is to remedy that somewhat.
